Game of the tournament. This is why the Big East is the best league in the country.
Wow. That NOVA home run pass with 8 seconds left was just stupid. Then to have Fields hit those two fts under such pressure. Then, have Reynolds make that drive and shot. Awesome viewing.
If Blair leaves for draft (he should, he is a beast), with seniors Young, Fields and Biggs, Pitt will be hurting. Those are some great college players.
I haven't talked about my home Alabama since Nick Williams' flew the recruiting class with Crean. However, kudos to Alabama's Scott Reynolds for delivering Nova to the Final Four. There fans and their coach love Marquette, and they were the most similar team to MU - and got all the same criticisms, too small to compete despite great guard play, etc.
Critics ask "who did MU beat" and now we can say in additional to 6 ranked teams closing with Utah State, MU beat a Final Four team in Nova. The flip side is to ask critics, "who beat MU down the stretch?" Now we can say:
The only teams to beat MU down the stretch, even with DJ injured, were one Sweet 16 team (Syr), two or three Elite 8 teams (Missouri, Pitt and maybe Lville), and two or three Final Four teams (Nova, UConn and against maybe Lville).
Congrats Nova. Obviously wish it was us, but nice tourney.
Scotty Reynolds went to Herndon, Virginia High School.
Yes he did. Like Jonathan Wallace of Georgetown, Reynolds was born in Huntsville, Alabama. That might have been a pretty incredible high school backcourt if he had stayed in Herndon and played together with Wallace at Sparkman High, but Scotty was later adopted by extended family and landed in Herndon, Virginia. But he is an Alabama native.
Excellent. He is a player.
Great game! I predicted OT at 10 minute mark and wish it happened! I actually felt a little bad for Pittsburgh, but that was mainly bc I had them winning one of my brackets.
