Let the recruit pilfering begin!
Has anyone begun tracking flights out of Gainsville yet?
Here's a recruit that we were on hard but lost out on to UF...
Erik Murphy, 6'10" PF... http://florida.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=56461 (http://florida.rivals.com/viewprospect.asp?Sport=2&pr_key=56461)
Here is UF's 2009 recruiting class...http://florida.rivals.com/commitlist.asp (http://florida.rivals.com/commitlist.asp)

Too late...from the looks of things, those flights probably took place a couple of days ago.
Well played by UK...secure your guy before you get rid of the old one.
"As long as the University of Florida would like to have me here, this is where I want to be. For my part, I want to be at the University of Florida for the rest of my time coaching."
- Billy Donovan, June 7, 2007
What a pud.
This is as unofficial a confirmation as there is. The link isn't even up any more, and somehow I don't think MY Fox Orlando is going to be breaking this news.
He might leave Gainsville, but not quite yet.
Link broken, presumably taken down now. Gary Parrish on CBS Sports reporting Donovan will not leave Florida for Kentucky or any other college job.
Maybe their source is the same guy who reported last year that Sean Miller was on a flight to Milwaukee the night Crean took the Indiana job.
UF denying Orlando story:

Andy Katz reporting the same thing.

What a pud. What a loyal guy for staying in Gainesville
Fixed, but can change again at a moment's notice

He's still a pud. The Orlando Magic incident forever confirmed that.

Is Al McGuire a pud for wanting to go to the Bucks? People change their minds.

Well if he accepted it and then 3 days later decided he didn't want it, then yes he is a pud.

Fair enough....I believe in honoring commitments too, wholeheartedly. But I guess I also look at it like a buyer's remorse. Here in California we have a few days to change our minds on a car that you buy or a mortgage that you sign....3 days is a short time. These guys are asked to take on these new jobs largely on a moment's notice without fully understanding what they hell they are getting into. It's also why so many back out now or wonder a few weeks in if they were sold a bill of goods.
Better to have him back out 2 days later, or continue with his heart not in it? Not close!
With Donovan staying, Anthony Grant accepts the Alabama job tonight. $2 million per year.

Correction:
Buck Raynor changed Al's mind for him.
