Just announced on ESPN radio.
If anyone posts "Buzz to Kentucky," I am going to hunt you down and punch you in the nose.
Whatever we think of Buzz let's remember how dumb Kentucky looks right now. This guy has won an average of 20 games in his first two years and hasn't even had a chance to get his own players into town before they kick him out. Buzz was known as a master recruiter under Billy, let's give him a little more wiggle room than Kentucky gave Gillespie.

Can you imagine....they fire BG but bring in BG's former assistant. There would be blue blood pouring into the streets of the commonwealth.
Too bad for BG, but he'll land on his feet. Never should have taken that job in the first place and some of his former bosses told him such. Sometimes the lure clouds the judgment.
This is why the worse off IU was, the better it was for Crean.
He will get a longer leash to get the program on track.
Although, at IU, 4 years will probably be as long as the leash gets.
(For the record, I expect Crean to do well, but by about year 5, there will be tremendous pressure to not only win, but get to the elite 8 or better every year).

HAHAHAHAHA... classic.
That was one of the funnier threads I've ever read.
Buzz to Kentucky, Coach K to Marquette.

I especially like this line;
Quote
His seemingly random substitution patterns seemed to mystify the 24,000 assistant coaches who pack Rupp Arena every winter.
Donovon rumored to take KU job according to Orlando TV:

From the "Grass Isn't Always Greener" file, 2009 version:
- Billy Gillespie
- Dennis Felton
- Dave Leitao
What does that mean, that he "never signed the contract", as indicated in the ESPN story?
I assume that because he didn't sign it, he has the freedom to go anywhere, but also that any buyout clauses will not be in effect. It may have an affect on his relationship with the commits for 2009 and beyond.
Seems like a really dumb move on both parts, but I'm not a contract lawyer.
Too bad Crean didn't leave a year later, Gillispie could have been a steal for us with his resume.
