I admire the arrogance. They assume that if they want TC, they get TC. Why would a coach of a rising program in the BE want to go someplace with a fan base exponentially more insane than ours? On the flip side, it is always nice to know our coach is in demand.
So Billy Donovan is going to leave a national-champonship program to go to Kentucky? And TC's not leaving the Big East. Those fans have been smoking too much bluegrass.

Now that's funny. :D
Did you catch one of the posters had an Al McGuire quote as a tagline?
Based on Creans current contract, the state of the program and his history. the only 2 jobs I will really be concerned about him moving to are Michigan State and Michigan. Isn't the Michigan job likely to open up soon? How much more time can they give Amaker?
Those crazy cats. I'd guess Tubby's staying so it's a non-issue.
Even then, I really have no fear of Crean leaving.
Hah, lmao, after the 2003 final four, crean was a top candidate to take over the Illinois Job which ended up being loaded with star talent and made a trip to the championship game, and crean rejected it. He knows he has something special here at MU!
Crean won't go to Michigan. He is from the Spartan "family" and there is no way a Spartan would coach Michigan. Living in Michigan, I can attest that the UM/MSU rivalry is up there with Duke/UNC, 'Bama/Auburn, etc. However, I could see him going to MSU when Izzo moves on. Damnit.
IMHO, I think it comes down to recruiting. Can Crean at MSU get better recruits than Crean at Marquette? I think he is close to establishing a program that will enable him to get commitments from the recruits he thinks he could get if he were at MSU. And when that is the case, he is at MU to stay.

I used to think that he could draw MORE QUALITY recruits to MSU if he ever moved there.
But I think DWade's success and connection to MU really makes me doubt TC will jump from MU in the near future.
synonymousn ambitious guy, but he also has a pretty big ego...not that that is a bad thing. I remember when James committed a quote along the lines of "I want to go to MU because of Coach Crean. He wants to be a hall of fame coach at Marquette and I want to help him get there by helping MU win some championships."
Crean's ego may play in our favor, in that he sees himself as no less than the next Lute Olsen, Coach K, etc. This is his program now and as Coach K is synonymous with Duke, and Lute is synomonous with Arizona, so does Crean wish to be synonymous with Marquette.
Those are lofty goals that will be hard to reach, but if Crean's confidence leads him to believe he can do that at MU (while enjoying a nice pay check, by the way), then I don't fear him leaving for another school...even MSU. He is part of a big time program now in a big time conference, and it is all his doing...
