Paul Lukas also talked about this on ESPN/Page 2 (http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story?page=lukas/090323/preps).

His conclusion:  the uniforms didn't really cause the team to lose its 10 point fourth quarter lead.  And they didn't seem to hamper the team in the 3rd place game when they were assessed another pre-game technical for wearing the non-conforming jerseys.

Some people argued that Lawndale's coach was hampered by the idea that he couldn't afford another T during the course of the games. I'm not sure about the rules but I get the idea they chose to ignore the rules.
