That is what I thought I saw when they panned the crowd after Lazar's "and one."
The MU fans (regular and not) were coming through loud and clear on CBS broadcast. Thank you to the X and Wisco fans that stuck around to add to our voices.
I was at a bar in Milwaukee (Karma), and Badger fans were on there feet for MU. They were throwing out high fives to everyone!!!

Probably why we lost.
We may snipe a lot at each other, but I never considered our rivalry one where we hate each other. Glad to see them rooting for us.

Are you sure you're a MU fan?
Chiming in from Boise right now... I'm sure many of the other MU spectators can chime in too...
At halftime of the Wiscy game, a couple Badger fans commented to me on DJ's return and seemed partial to MU. I think they planned on cheering for MU. After they lost though, obviously their mood changed.
Since their section was directly two sections to our left, it was hard to a good view, but it looked like UW fans were mostly on their hands during the game. I looked over a couple times when we took the lead with about 4 minutes to go, and pretty much the same indifference. Someone else might have seen otherwise though.
That being said, I don't blame them though... it's hard losing and sitting through a game. I did that last year in Anaheim for UCLA and A&M which followed... it was a great game, but I couldn't muster up the same enthusiasm after the Stanford heartbreak.
Great support for MU overall, and especially at the end... the boos were loud and clear from everyone but the Mizzou crowd. Impartial fans voiced their displeasure about the ending as well while we were filing out.
Great game played by both teams... wish it didn't have to end like that though.
Quick rant... I do think the substitution tarnished the ending quite a bit. To anyone who says that the freshman's FT % was lower, I don't think that's a valid argument in that clutch situation (aka bullsh#t argument). Mizzou was playing full-steam balls out, and Tiller obviously would have been tired to put up those FT's... would he make them? Who knows, but it was a ton of pressure. English was having a great game, was playing with TONS of confidence, had fresh legs, and it was obvious he was going to nail them. When they subbed back in Tiller, Mizzou lost the benefit of the doubt in my mind. I've never seen a team booed off the court for a good 2 minutes after the final.
Both are very good teams and played a great game... just unfortunate about the result.
Sorry about the hijack here... Had to get this off my chest.
I don't know about the rest of the state outside of Milwaukee, but a buddy and I actually had to leave a bar in Appleton at halftime because the Badger fans who had stuck around for the Marquette game were too obnoxious to listen to, especially after the few Marquette fans present had been identified. Hickville like you can't believe up here -- and I wouldn't be surprised if better than half of them were Platteville grads in the first place.
I know what you mean! I'm from the Valley too.Everybody up here acts like they went to uw-madison.I love it when my wife askes,oh, you went to madison? And they look blank saying ,no.Then what makes them any better then the rest of the state schools.

Thank you Warrior07, that has been my experience with most Badger fans, as well. Most students and alumni from the University of Wisconsin - Dane County are arrogant and condescending. And, a large majority of other Rodent 'fans' have never stepped foot on a college campus. I am now 36 years old, an MU graduate and have always cheered for both teams (obviously leaning MU when we meet). That was until this years MU-UW game. The UW 'fans' behind us were embarrassing and confrontational - it took everything I had not to get in a fight.
Why the constant desire for approval from Rodent fans???? I cheered against them today and always will. I am glad they lost. Had they won today, combined with how we lost, going to work on Monday would have been intolerable.

I've never met an arrogant MU alum in my lifetime :)

Thanks for chiming in avid1010. So, I see you went to Madison - what year did you graduate????
I didn't think so. ;D
Thank God for Xavier, that's all I can say.
6kings: Everybody up here acts like they went to uw-madison Being from Illinois I hated the fact that even some MU students cheered for Badger football let alone basketball. I hate how personal everything is taken by Badger fans, even if they didn't go there. It's a sorry state that individuals cheer on teams of schools they either didn't get into or go to.
At the game UW fans for the most part didn't favor any team. Hard to blame them as they had just lost. I did notice, however, that a few UW band members were cheering for us on our free throws.
Also at the end of the game, I did see a few UW fans lifting their arms in the air trying to get others to stand in support of MU. The end of the game really turned the whole arena (minus Missouri section) into Marquette fans. It could best be heard by Missouri getting boo'ed off the court.
Maybe they were confused, as the radio guys on Westwood 1 said the scoreboard read Wisconsin vs Missouri for much of the first half. Maybe they though it was the 3rd quarter.
There is nothing I hate more than badger fans who didn't even go to that $hithole....but worship them.
That is why I will always cheer against the badgers in anything they ever do....be it JV chess!

The entire game, they couldn't get it changed. They ended up taping a sign that said Marquette over the scoreboard. I'll host my pics later this week, getting back to WI from Boise sucks!
