Title: Bench against Mizzo
Post by: nyg on March 21, 2009, 07:21:43 AM
It will be critical that the starters do not get into any foul trouble on Sunday.  We match up pretty good with Mizzo's starters, who starts three guards.  But, Mizzo goes about 9 deep, with a 6ft 6 shooting guard (English) coming off the bench, and has been extremely productive. Their forwards, Carroll at 6ft 8 and Lyons at 6ft 9 are the offensive threats and I assume Hayward, Burke and Butler will be their defensive assignments.  Any fouls problems on either of the three will be a major issue.

Since Buzz has only played Butler and Cube lately and has no faith in Fulce or Hazel, I hope the game does not come down to foul problems.

While we haven't seen Fulce or Hazel much of late, to say Buzz has no faith in them is not accurate.  With position 1-3 he rotates five people and 4-5 he rotates 3 people.

Hazel has not played in 9 straight games and in 12 out of last 14.  He even sat in the blow-out of St. Johns, where a walk-on played instead of him.

Fulce has played a total of 25 minutes in the last 17 games, 15 of those minutes came in the St. John's game.

If that's faith so be it.  Keep out of foul trouble.

We'll play our standard rotation and be just fine. From a style/makeup perspective, this is a far more desirable match up than Utah state was. I say this is gonna be a win.
