Looks like George Koonce has just been named the new AD at UWM.

no surprise there. He was a frontrunner for the job. Good luck to him in his future role at UWM.
Good for him. Oddly, I met him for the first time last week, he was milling around our offices and I recognized him .. wished him well on the UWM gig.
KOOOOOOOOOOONCE.
Was always nice catching up with him at the BC and talking a little Packer football.
Best of luck at UWM.
dang, I thought someone just realized that Jack Harbaugh was still on the payroll.
Good for him! Not only because he worked at MU, but because he was one of my favorite Packers. I remember when he got hurt during the '96 playoffs, and toward the end of the Super Bowl, they flashed a picture of him on the screen and the Packer fans gave a big "KOOOOONNCCEEE" and he got a big smile on his face.
Maybe Koonce will get UWM's name changed to "Milwaukee University", and they will copy our MU logo.
University of Milwaukee
No great loss, I'm glad you saw him at the BC! As a Blue & Gold donor and been to many events and away games I never saw him!
Same here. With his football frame, he would be easy to pick out of a crowd, so .. it's odd I just never saw him at any games, in the BC hallway, whatever.
I asked him if he went to games for that very reason .. he said he goes to them all.
It's about time...Buzz needs the opportunity to hire everyone of his inlaws for jobs in the MU athletic department!

University of Milwaukee
That would work. Down here in South Florida, we have a saying about the University of Miami - "You can't spell scum without UM." ;D
Hey--don't roll out all the good rips yet. Wait till they make a change, then they won't know what hit 'em.
If they change their name, will that reset their all time record against MU?
What did he do at MU anyway? No great loss.

What does ANY Associate AD do that's newsworthy? The fact that he got the UWM job shows he was a good asset to MU. good for him, i'm sure they'll miss him at MU
Well, I hope one of his first moves as AD is to skip the renewal on the series with MU.

One of his big responsibilities was fund-raising. He was probably in a box somewhere. And from what I understand he did a good job.
.. Possibly, although he told me he sat in 226, IIRC, usually with his daughter. I think I remember that right.
My seats are in 226, and, although I never saw him in the seats, I did see him down on the floor area in that corner at more than a few games, always in a suit and tie.
