A lunch time converstaion at work with a badger fan about our current 3 amigos turned to the topic of the 4 amigos from Provisio East back in the mid 90's. On one of the PE teams there were 4 D 1 recruits all in the same graduation year Michael Finley at UW, Donnie Boyce at Colorado who MU supposedly was in his final 2 or 3, a kid at UIC who we couldn't rember his name and one other, anyone remeber the name of the UIC player and the other one. I also seem to remember that 3 or maybe even all 4 were 1st round NBA picks.
Since this is off the topic let me add one more sports trivia question we couldn't come up with an answer to. Why do all of the old Big 8 University of schools change their moniker from the Univeristy of Kansas or Nebraska or Oklahoma when it is spelled out to the reverse when it is abbreviated i.e. why is the Univerity of Kansas referred to as KU or Colorado as CU implying Colorado University?
I believe the UIC guy was Sherrell Ford. I also think they were just the "Three Amigos" -- after the Chevy Chase, Martin Short, Steve Martin movie.
Sherrell Ford is right, I kept thinking of Sherrell Collins but knew he was a currnet HS player. You maybe right about it being 3, the memory isn't what it used to be.
they were the 3 Amigos.....O'Neill recruited Boyce but he never visited. Kenny Davis and Jamal Robinson might have been on one of those teams at PE, but I am not sure about that.
If I remember, Boyce was a solid player until he broke his leg. I think it was his senior year. I don't think he ever recovered from the injury. I remember watching the state championship during the year of the 3 amigos. Those guys dominated. I distinctly remember Finley's Jeri Curl. Classic.
Proviso East has a long history of great players. The 3 amigos, Dee Brown, Shannon Brown, and of course Doc Rivers
