Today's games are available online at www.bigeast.org.  Starting tomorrow, the games are on ESPN.

No TV coverage of the first round, but the rest of the tournament will be broadcast on ESPN.  Apparently they did not adjust the TV contract when the tourney expanded to 16 teams. You can watch round one games on www.bigeast.org

I did some searching on all the Big East board available off the resources link on here yesterday and couldn't find one single solitary soul who was mad these games weren't on over-the-air TV today. Seems like a pretty strong statement to me that they need to drop this thing back to 12 teams next year. DePaul's winning as we speak, BTW.

The 16 team field claims its first bubble victim.  The extra round really does help the bad schools, but man it only serves to punish the league.  A win over a team like Depaul is meaningless, but a loss is a season ender.

Ehhh..I dunno. An 8/9 game between PC and UC would have amounted to something of a play-in/elimination game anyway, so really, what's the difference?

The chances of #8 PC getting in by beating #9 UC are probably higher than if they "only" beat #16 DePaul.  Now, it's entirely conceivable that PC could beat DePaul tomorrow, and it still might not be enough.  In that case, PC would have to beat UL to get in - ouch!

By the way, did you see the "crowd" for the game?  A couple of colleagues stopped by my office while I was watching the stream, and for a few moments I believe our attendance was slightly higher than at the Garden....

I was laughing about attendance too!

I think Prov could beat LOU...I think a team like depaul could beat LOU.  LOU tends to be streaky, very streaky.  It just takes one bad night to get bounced from the tourny and maybe a #1 seed.

I'm pissed about the games not being on tv. I bought Fullcourt and have ESPNU and I couldn't watch the games on tv. They were also available on 360 but the fullcourt channels were sitting there empty.
I was at the pre season tournament at the Garden and it was empty as well. They didn't even open up the the higher tiered section. I was shocked that they couldn't get the place filled 50% on a Fri. night.

One of the Big East scheduling guys was on tv this week and he said that the tourney was entirely sold out.  The tickets were sold as a "season" (all tourney together).  So the locals who bought most of them probably won't show up for 5 days in a row.  I would expect that the early round games could be bought in the street for next to nothing.
