What a shame that this team doesn't have a post player. If Crean can recruit on post in four years or if Mbakwe doesn't run back to Minnesota like a titty baby the day before classes start, this team has a chance at a national championship.
We're as good or better than anyone in the country on the perimeter, but a complete lack of an inside game makes us too one-dimensional. If we go cold from the field, we're beat. And teams can drive because there's no retribution coming in the lane. It's too hard to get spread out and prevent your man from driving or shooting the outside J (which, by the way, teams somehow shoot at all-star NBA levels).
I honestly feel bad for these seniors, who deserve better.
yup
bitter, but balls on.
not surprise we lost tonight... Pitt didn't miss a shot.
but to be manhandled down low every freakin time down?
sad for sure.
now to figure out how to proceed without an inside game and a pg.

I'm curious, how did we do the last few years against these bigger teams? I'm just asking....we seem to always have been smaller, I guess we lost every one of those games. I can't remember. ::)
That being said, did you honestly think we would win this game before the season started? I can't imagine many folks did.
This was the gauntlet for a reason....top 10 teams on the road.

Yup. We went cold, they couldn't miss. Disappointing because you can tell the guys are playing their hearts out. These guys deserve better.

Personally I was hoping this was a trap game of some sorts.
I didn't think we'd win but I had high hopes. Buzz didn't lose us the game, but he sure didn't do his part to try and help

Wow...you're continuing to beat a horse that has been put down and turned into glue!
Let's focus on the good things and the future of our team. Like what a special group of players (who love being here) we have been able to wnjoy over the last couple seasons. A head coach (who's still learning on the job) who knows that the basketball program revolves around his student athletes and not himself and protects his players to the point that he has to absorb all sorts of criticism from the media and the fans. Let's enjoy how they have continue to fight all season and never laid down after Dominic James went down.
We've got a great class coming in next season...we're going finally have a team with depth and talented size. I, for one, and excited at what the future holds for this team. I think Buzz has done a phenomenal job in his first season and will continue to grow and become a great coach. Let's focus on the good things and leave the past exactly where it belongs.
Just my 2 cents.

+1 Great job of putting in words what I have been thinking......
I for one am sick of waiting for the future to get past the first weekend of the tourney. This was the year we were finally going to make a run, limited size or not. Bad luck for sure, but I refuse to get excited about next year's team until I see how they hold up in conference play. Call me Dr. No but it's how I feel.
