Every offensive possession he is just standing on the wing about 5 feet from the 3 pt line. maybe he knows he is playing 40 mins, but he has got to get more active.
He's having a much better game than he did against Louisville.
Something is off with him since James left. I will agree that James created for everyone on the team but McNeal scores about 20 points a game. He got most of those points creating off the dribble and with the pick and pop. Every time something goes wrong, he just hangs his head.

There was a flow to the offense when DJ was around. We don't have that now. In order for us to score, McNeal, Matthews and Hayward have to force it.
I'm not a McNeal fan. He's frustrating to watch like Brett Favre in his last fives games.

Yea okay that will win us games. Put in a guy who is our worst defender and can't score over a first team Big East player.
I've counted at least 4 stupid turnovers by McNeal that could have been baskets.
He's got 12 points, shooting 40% and is perfect from the line, a helluva improvement from last game. If Pitt cools off (61% shooting) we've got a great shot. AS for the turnovers, I'm sure that at least half of those would be fouls at the BC.
I'm not gonna rip on McNeal for any sort of lack of effort. I don't see that. He does need to be much stronger with the ball though. You can't get your pocket picked by Blair at the top of the key for crying out loud.
I'm not sure what to call it, but if I were Buzz I might be ripping some butts at half time. I don't see a lack of effort, but perhaps a lack of proper intensity, focus? Not sure, but I feel the same way I did after the first half against Providence. Something's just missing. Problem is, I don't see any way we blow Pitt's doors off in the last 5 minutes to steal this one away.

And he had his shot tossed 3 times. Since James left, I have yet to see him get emotionally invested in the game. No chirping at his teammates after a big play. No swagger telling the other team that they can't stop him. He looks like he is just going through the motions.
Don't you think a 4 year starter would have an idea on what a " good" shot. Every time he dribbles the ball don't you just hold your breath waiting for the turn over?
