Title: Crean on PTI
Post by: muPARTY on March 04, 2009, 05:28:40 PM
i know it's another crean thing, but they asked him about Marquette, showed some highlights, and even put the monogram up in the corner... so figured it should be noted.

TC summary when asked if he thinks about what would have been at MU:
Happy for Marquette.  hasn't thought about where'd they'd be if he was still there.  seniors deserve all the credit and awards they get.  knew what they had when they left.  mentioned taylor, (subtle way of saying how great they would have been; "three guys that scored 1000pts already, lazar hayward was playing well, a guy that would have been there, tyshawn taylor who's the starting guard at kansas").  understodd what he had, an opportunity he couldn't pass up.  respects coach, team, community, etc.

sorry, it's the same ol' dribble from him.  no shockers like, "god i'm an idiot!" or anything.  just some lazy reading before the game tonite.

I was surprised he didn't mention anything about James' injury.

Its irritating, my friends and I have already talked extensively about what Taylor and even Williams would have added to the squad.  Then again we wouldn't have Butler, but if Crean was coach would Fulce or James be injured?  Its a weird thing to think about, things would have played out way different.

I'm sorry.....what was that? I was just puking from the thought of him still being our head coach.

Too many unknowns.  The makeup of the team would be totally different.

Butler would not be here.

Does DJ stay?

Does Mbakwe stay?

Does Christopherson stay?

We were over the limit in ships so someone had to leave.  Could have been a better year if he stayed.  Could have been worse.  WHo knows.

God, that's frightening.

Would we have the recruiting class coming next year with Crean though?

We would have had a very good class next year regardless because of all the playing time available to offer.  Buzz would still be the assistant coach so one would assume that Williams, who verballed with Crean still the head coach, would still be here.  Maymon most like would not be here.  Wilson most likely would be here.  And of course Taylor would be here now.

I think DJ would be here.  Transfering for one season makes no sense.  I doubt Trevor would be here and I doubt Scott would be here.

So it's all a mix of what-ifs

I'll keep the deck we've been dealt. I rather be 0-35 with any other coach than that ass. He did us all a huge favor by bolting.

Turner, no one can be that bitter, especially when you say 0-35.  Please.

In 5 years, we'll see how much of a favor he did.  If we've fallen by then, I doubt many people will agree with you.

Did you catch TC sleeping with your wife?

Open your eyes and realize he did do some good for this program.

He did more good for himself than the program. Simply put, didn't like him when he was here, don't like him now.

BTW, my wife has better taste than that.

4Ever & Turners are not the same.  4Ever is smart, but not that smart.

I have no problem with Nick Williams following his coach to IU but I think it's wrong that Ty Taylor can open up his recruitment like that.  TC should have told him to man up and attend MU.  Of course that would be expecting TC to have the same level of class as Kevin O'Neill.
