We drop to between 16 and 20.
I voted for "13th or higher," not because I think that's where we belong, but because I think that's how the voters will likely see us. If anything, I think these last 2 games, against 2 top-6 teams, down a (very important) man, proves that we do belong in the top 10.
Lose to #2 and #6 in the country, we should be around 13.

It's statements like this that make me wonder why i bother with this board.
If you have us dropping as much as 12 places because we lost to #2 and at #6, then you have Clemson and AZ State dropping out of the top 25.
We drop 2 places to 10.
#12
I think the voters will not be kind for losing a game we could have won at UL.
But there are A LOT of Top 25 battles going on right now and in the coming week.
This is playing out just like the irrational panic we saw the week we lost to USF. The average guess was we drop 7 places, we dropped two.
When you get to March and you lose to #2 and #6, you don't move that much.
WHO CARES WHO CARES WHO CARES WHO CARES WHO CARES!!!!!!!! All I care about is our seeding in the NCAA. We're not Duke or UCLA, so I am sure we will drop a bit, but if the voters want to drop us a lot of losing to two top 8 teams, then that's their view. I'd rather get to the sweet 16 than be ranked 16th, and lose in the first round.
Yeah, but we also lost James and I'm sure many voters will take that into account along with our two losses. I hope we'll be around 12.

I disagree. I tend to think the voters will be impressed and surprised we only lost by 4 at Lou--I know I was. Had we gotten drummed I think they would've taken it to us in the polls b/c it would be easy to assume we'd fade away quietly without DJ given how thin we were beforehand.
Count #11 Mizzo in the equation, they are getting spanked by Kansas. Spanked.
anotherMU, the voters will take into account we have lost our point guard as well as our two losses. If we drop only two places, it will be the first time in poll history a Top Ten team went 0-2 and dropped only two places. Without DJ we are NOT the 10th-best team in the country.

by 23 with less than 13 left.
That'll probably be more like 13 at the end of the game.

You're giving the voters WAY too much credit. Fran Fanchilla forgot to rank us a few weeks ago!
The voters are sportswriter (SP). I'll bet that majority of them don't even know who DJ is.
maybe you're right, and maybe 16 to 20 was too low.
This is what I hate about the polls, not much logic is used, it is typically based on emotion and what conference your team plays in. Logically, if you vote 1 team #2 and another #10 and #10 losses why should they go down in the polls at all? Isn't that the way it's supposed to play out? In fact it could be argued that if the game is close enough the losing #10 team should move up in the polls. That rarely happens though. The people who vote are too busy to take time to analyse the situation. They see a loss and they vote the team lower. We lost to #2 and #6 as the #10 rated team. We should stay right at #10 but I bet we fall to #15.
Who cares. I would just like us to win a game against a high quality team.
50th :D
I'm going to say 14.
I think we're 12. With the loss of DJ, loss at home to UCON, and loss at L'ville, voters will not be so kind as to drop us only two places. Without the loss of DJ, I agree that we would be 10, but voters will take the loss of DJ into account.

Hah. Both are wrong, although ecompt was closest. Coaches we're at #15 .. ecompt guessed 16-19. You were far too optimistic at #10.
I would have preferred anotherMU to be correct.
