From the other board.

Might as well try to break the "curse" today...

Good. Question is...will an empty Number 1 jersey be hanging on an empty seat on the bench? I say yes.

Exactly. Their luck has been so good otherwise.

Buzz might be trying to get those things burned.

Also, isn't Louisville wearing some throwback uniforms today?  I thought I heard that they were somewhere.  So maybe we're playing along and wearing the oldschool color.

I bet the players got a chance to pick the color or maybe even DJ did.

We might be superstitious but I don't think the players are.

the whole concept of a baby blue jersey curse is horse sh*t... it's a jersey color; the only way it affects you is if a giant portion of your fans tells you that it will affect you, and you let it happen.

Rosiak said the seniors made the call on the jerseys

My spin:  this team has mental toughness.  They picked the jerseys.  I'm impressed with thier focus.  We are 1 - 2 with the baby blues - tie to even the score.   GO MARQUETTE!

Bad news...

Mar. 1, 2009 10:23 a.m.

Louisville, Ky. -- ...for MU fans.

The Golden Eagles are sporting their powder blue uniforms today.

They broke them out for the first time here last season, and, as everyone remembers, were beaten soundly by Louisville.

MU is 1-2 in these unis, and 0-1 this season (Dayton).

FYI, the seniors made the call on them today.

Louisville, meanwhile, is wearing 1959 throwback uniforms. Expect to see coach Rick Pitino bust out that white suit again.

Hopefully potential recruits will like them, especially in HD TV.  They do show nice.

Pitino looks like colonel sanders in his white outfit!  He should have black shoes & socks on.  Not brown!

we play like crap in those uni's.  Go Navy Blue in the 2nd half.

The boys played and looked like Warriors today.  Curses are for fools and Cubs fans.  I hope they wear the baby blues, or "valour" blues as Converse calls them, for every game for the rest of the year.

We still lost in them, right?  Go back to our normal colors, white, gold, navy.  End of discussion.

Go back to white, navy, and gold? Why? We've lost in those before too. The color doesn't affect the result, although obviously a lot of people feel otherwise. I'd love to see the light blues at home for Senior Day.

We lost in our golds Wednesday.  We lost in navy at Villanova and at South Florida.  Why not scrap those uniforms too?

Ridiculous line of thinking.

LIGHT BLUE is NOT in our color scheme!!  Why not have BLACK uniforms?!?  They're equally as RIDICULOUS looking.  Stick with the colors in our logo and color scheme.  And we've lost a much LARGER proportion of our games in those ridiculously garbage  baby blue uniforms than the others.  I'm WELL AWARE of our W/L in different uni combos, I am just saying that the powder blue uniforms suck.  Enough of them.

We seem to play lousy in them, but of course that is just coincidence.  The main reason we should junk them is that they are hideous to look at.  Not to mention kind of effeminate.  Need the manly navy on the road and white at home.  You can bust out the gold for special occasions.

Ummm light blue is in our color scheme.  It's on every one of our jerseys.

Long live the baby blues!

A Dominic James-less Marquette almost knocked off the #6 team in the country on the road whilst wearing the allegedly "cursed" jerseys.

It's almost as if the color jersey has little, if any effect on the game....nah, that can't be it. That's too logical. Where's my voodoo doll?

The Baby Blues didn't play badly today.  Next time we wear the Baby Blues, we let McNeal wear the Gold.  That should be the game adjustment that does the trick :)

The seniors selected them, the seniors like them, but lab warrior doesn't.  Maybe we should tell the players lab warriors said to scrap them and let him choose instead of the players who actually wear them.

+1

If you look close enough, you can see a pattern. "We lost"- as in, the Uni's make no impression on the game except to the fans who think they are "cursed".  We had the game in our grasp, it's too bad we couldn't get over the hump and win that game.

MU has a history of nonconventional unis -- especially in the 70's.  I like that we come out with unis that make people to take notice.  I think that players like 'em, maybe potential recruits like 'em and I like 'em.  I think that the curse is debunked b/c we actually played pretty well tonight, IMO.
