WHY oh WHY?!? (http://www.replayphotos.com/marquettephotos/replay-peels-print/the-golden-eagle-peel_PEEL_40128.cfm)
Oh my god people, let it go. We're the Golden Eagles, we're going to stay the Golden Eagles, and if you don't like it, that's your right, but deriding our mascot is not going to change it.
We're the 10th ranked team in the country, we're playing our biggest regular season game in several years tonight, and we've got a legitimate chance to be a top 5 team next week. We've got three of the best players in school history playing their final games, and we're getting some tremendous national exposure, for not only our basketball team but our beloved university... and some of you people are still hung up on a f$@^*(&$R MASCOT! STOP! MOVE ON! OR AT LEAST WAIT UNTIL MAY WHEN THERE'S NOTHING ELSE TO TALK ABOUT!!
/rant off
Sorry Tribby....but it is kind of a requirement that we smack the nickname and anything associated with it as early and often as possible.
And I agree with the first poster, who the heck would want that? ICK! Damn thing inspires fear all right....

I think he was probably just referring to the fact that no one wants a 6' sticker of a doofus-looking bird on their wall. I wouldn't want to look at that hideous thing regardless. Lay off the caffeine and take a few deep breaths.

Golden Eagle issue aside, is that only 4' tall? Did I read that correctly?
At least they could make it menacing and 6' tall like TT.
My daughter (5years) would love the "Big Chicken" hanging in her room.
The Big Chicken gives the best hugs.
The only thing better than having the "big chicken" on your wall is living with him.
As for the hugs, I didn't let him get that close!
I already have a chicken in the fridge, I don't need one on my wall.
TT-
How much do you charge for one of these if you're not in the suit?
That would have been a good decorartion for my apartment at Renee Row back in college. Definately a good conversation piece. The Golden Eagle would be the life of the party.
Btw, why haven't we named the Golden Eagle like other school's have named their mascots?

We should call him the "War Eagle!"
I brought my first 2.5 year old to his first MU game this winter (W.Va.) and he was convinced Donald Duck was at the game. Despite my best efforts "Donald Duck" was his focus of most of the game
I'll tell you why the golden chicken is a good thing. One and only one reason: It helps keep my two year old from talking about the goddamned bucky and talking about the eagle, which he associates with Marquette. F. Bucky.
Wow!
I should have mentioned in the first post that I was giving TT a hard time! LOL!
Didn't think it could be interpreted that way! LOL!
Golden Avalanche/Hilltoppers/Warriors/"Gold" (if you exist)/Golden Eagles UNITE!
GO MU!
BEAT UCONN! ;D
