For those of you interested, Channel 3000.com out of Madison will be showing Madison Memorial (with Jeronne Maymon) v. Madison East (with former Crean target and UWM verbal commit Marquis Mason) as their Prep Mania Game of the Week on Thursday at 7:30 PM. Winner gets the Big 8 title - even though the conference has 10 teams.

BTW, Mason is really having a big year. From what I understand, real smart kid too. Wants to major in engineering at UWM.

They count like the Big Ten.
Mason isn't a UWM Verbal. In fact he denied the story that he ever committed to UWM soon after it happened. UWM is still his favorite if he chooses to play basketball. He's also an major football recruit and UW among others are after him to play football in college instead of basketball.

They still play football at UW?

OK, I stand corrected. Thank you for the update!
It was about 10-12 years ago that another Madison East hoops standout, Donald Hayes, opted to play football and that lead him to a fine college career at UW and a few years in the NFL.

I don't think I've ever read "real smart kid" and "wants to go to UWM" in the same sentence before.

Ironically, those two phrases were not "in the same sentence."
