Alright ladies and gentleman...game day has arrived!!! With arguably the most anticipated game in Milwaukee (with the greatest implications) in decades, it's time to show the country what we're made of.
It's going to take a near flawless performance to beat UCONN tonight (although not nearly as much with their loss of Dyson). I'm going to cringe when I see a 6'6" Lazar or a 6'6" Butler guarding Thabeet in the post...but I'm hoping with these inevitable match-ups, we can draw the big fella away from the basket. Need Lazar to be banging 3's early.
Would give my left arm to be there.....I'm glad that I'll be at the game this Sunday in Louisville, and would love nothing more to pull a sweep this week!
Hot damn...I'M FIRED UP!!!!
Chances of me focusing on anything other than this game today are slim and none.
there's a game today?
who is playing??
;)

I had a dream last night that Otule and Fulce were playing heavy minutes and taking care of business. Obviously March is near!
I hope you're right...with drawing Thabeet out. Would UCONN go to a zone if MU goes small? I would think they could just force/funnel the guards to Thabeet.
That being said...who would have thought MU would be playing a sold-out BC game on Wednesday, Feb. 25th to remain at the top of the BEAST. What a great year to be an MU fan.
I'm curious ... anyone know what the line of the game is?

its been bouncing around pick em. most i have seen either way is a 1 pt favorite for both teams.
Out here on the East Coast, nothing better than starting my day with a Marquette article in the NY Times.
My productivity today may reach non-existent.
So so pumped!
WE ARE MARQUETTE!
Well, I don't think UConn plays much zone at all, so I don't think we are gonna see that. As big and athletic as they are, I think they are gonna have a tough time keeping up with MU. Beyond that, I think they are a touch on the 'soft' side, and I think there is a real possibility that MU just runs away from them in the second half, kinda like they did against Georgetown.
My biggest concern in this one is rebounding simply because the size differential is so pronounced - Thabeet, Adrien, Robinson...Rebounding is generally about moving your feet, but there are cases where size does matter.
Makes some shots, score in transition, play great D on the perimeter, and I think MU will get the win.
Didn't think this game could possibly get bigger, but with Pitt losing last night, the implications of tonight's game got a lot stronger. The scenarios for a BE championship are a lot less complicated now.
You know its a big game when the 6:15 AM mass at Gesu has more students than senior citizens.
I don't know how I'm gonna get anything done today...
I'm actually a little physically sick with anticipation/nervousness.

Makes me think of the line from Wedding Crashers...Morning Mass and Basketball! That's what Marquette does!

Agreed, selloutuconn.com video is going to get a lot of plays.
Our Wedding Crashers line-adaptation has always been: "Beer and basketball... that's what Marquette does."
LET'S GO WARRIORS!
Over at cbssports.com, they have a poll up for tonight's game -

Will No. 2 Connecticut win at No. 8 Marquette on Wednesday?

That makes two of us.
Between the home crowd, their loss of Dyson' and the way we've been playing, I agree that this game is a push, odds-wise. Should be close all the way through... Can't wait to take it all in from section 428!

The New York Times is still in business?
I lack the tech savvy, but a video bit with Heath Ledger's joker saying this thread's title would rock....
Why so serious?

My girlfriend told me I was talking in my sleep last night. Apparently I told her that we can beat UConn if we pressure their guards.
