Is there a foul on the baseline that he will not call against Marquette? If Marquette is in the same zip code, he's calling a contact foul.
That call on Burke just now was awful.
I think Hightower has been fine.
Is it possible to go one game without a thread on the officials?
It is not possible.
Thank you for the objectivity
Let me be objective. That blocking call against James with 3:19 on the clock was horrible.

no one loves Ed
Agreed. The Gtown games are ridiculous. Last year's OT game comes to mind especially.
Reffs couldn't stop the boys today! Best game of the yr by far.
I have to admit, when I first heard that Ed Hightower was a ref for the game. I got a bad feeling. However, he called a pretty good game without making too many BS calls as he typically does.
Here we go again. ::)
The refs were fine. A couple missed calls here and there, which happens every game, but they were consistent.

I thought it was a good officiated game,my problem with Hightower is he needs to be seen out there when he makes a call.Just blow the whistle and make the call.
I think Bobby Knight was talking about Hightower when he complained about officials working 5 or 6 games a week. Knight said officiating would be better if they were limited to three games a week. I swear, Hightower works every game thats on ESPN.
Beside officiating, one must also complain about Dukie V (practicing my posts for UCONN) and Len Elmore (could GTown really come back with 14 seconds left in the game?). Simple code to live by.

Hightower's week:
Monday- @ Pittsburgh for UConn game
Tuesday- @ West Lafayette for Purdue/MSU
Wednesday- @ Providence for Louisville game
Saturday- @ D.C. for Georgetown/MU
I'm assuming he did a game last saturday too

Yeah, that was BS, and so was the Burke one. How about the first half when the guy reached in on Jerel at the top of the key, gets a shoulder in the face, and Jerel is called for the foul? Still won.

Amazing how he can do all of this and still be a superintendent. I'm assuming that job pays $100,000+...he must work 24 hour days - 7 days a week.
I thought the refs were brutal for both teams so it evened out well.
On one of Wes' drives he took three or four steps. He clearly traveled but there was no call.

Or do nothing in his other job and delegate most responsibilities.

The one where he came in the lane from the left side, the high dribble where knifed through the defenders - yeah, if that was Georgetown I would've been screaming for the walk.
All I ever hope for from Hightower is that he be unbiased in his incompetence.
Claugherty was the one who called the blocking fouls on MU. Other than his theatrics and his tendency to take over games, I thought Eddie called it even today...maybe even giving us a make up call.
All officials at MU games=douche bags

I believe our good friend Ed also did the Minnesota v Michigan game on Thursday
From someone who was at the Verizon Center - the white dude with the buzz cut was worse than Hightower today. Ed got a little theatrical on a couple calls, but the ref with the black buzz cut called almost all the fouls on MU and practically none on Georgetown. By the way, #3 and #4 on Georgetown grabbed MU's jerseys throughout the game. At least #3 ended up fouling out.
Here is Eddie's schedule. 63 games in 33 states, 15 out of 21 days in Feb.

good research '09. how ridiculous is that though. c'mon, 4 games in as many days? 5 games in 6 days? take a rest ed
As brutal as the late block call was against DJ, you really have to give this team credit. They did not allow what could have been a game changing bad call get in the way of W. Focus and senior leadership.
