Irish up 37-19. Hopefully they can keep this up. Would be nice to quell Louisville's momentum a bit.
L'Ville is ice cold from the field. They should be owning ND's slower players. Their press was killing them but its tough to press when you don't hit shots.
Digger and Bob Knight are calling the game for ESPN. Digger just mentioned that the ND players had their "game faces" on before the game. I was hoping Knight would go off!
Would be Great to see the ville pick up another loss.
man, ND is hitting everything. Reminds me of the Nova game on Teusday
Wow you watch this game and you wonder how did Ville get 9 wins. Too many good teams in the Big East. When one gets super hot, ND over Ville, Nova over MU, MU over Cincy, its lights out. The key for the losing team is to forget about the game as soon as possible. Hopefully we right the ship against the johnnies.
ND sucks... That win at ND was worthless. So was the win against Nova. So was Georgetown. Marquette sucks. We have no quality wins. Oh wait. No. 6 UCLA and (I saw just this) is 0-2 against RANKED TEAMS! They have only played two ranked teams and they lost both.
This is to all the winers and cry babies. The point is that we have quality wins and we deserve to be in the top 15. AND some of you (you know who you are) have a hard time admitting we are a good team... BUT WE ARE
WE ARE MARQUETTE.
(ND IS WINNING BY THIRTY... HOW ARE WE EVERY GOING TO BE LOUISVILLE?!?!) SUCK IT
this really should put things into perspective
bad nights happen. Louisville can't hit a bunny and ND is getting 4pt plays.
We are fine. It's hard to root for ND but another loss for Louisville is wonderful.
Begin the media blowing their loads over ND now. I predict they jump to number 12 in the rankings

Listening to digger makes me want to hurl!
two things to point out.
ND has 2 points from their bench
Even with all their size, Lville did a much worse job containing shrek than we did

We have the worst defense ever. We can stop anyone. ;D

Notre Dame out rebounded Louisville by 18.
FT percentages are worse than our last game.

Who said Marquette sucks or has no quality wins?
By the way, I don't think UCLA is that good. I see them play all the time. They have a very high RPI because they only played one real dog all year. They have one game against a 300 or worse RPI team and only two more against 200 or worse. We played 9 such games which is one reason we get the flack we do. A lot of bunnies on our list of teams we have beaten. Just the way it is.
Wow.
1) I don't feel so bad about our 1 pt loss to USF now
2) It's always good for us when bottom half BE teams beat the top 5 (excluding us) BE teams
3) Since I hate both ND and UL about equally, I have no problem celebrating a ND win tonight :)

What does Louisville's lack of offense have to do with our defensive performance last game against Nova? Fact is, it was
piss poor. Buzz and Jerel have reiterated that themselves in the press. Does that make them whiners and cry babies too? ;)
Now back to the topic at hand: The Domers helped us out
big time tonight. Good time for Pitino's Patsies to lay an egg. UL is overrated (i.e., home loss to UNLV) but winning there is still a tough chore. Dog Days of February taking their toll in the BE. It really requires a great effort on these quick turnaround games the second time through the schedule. The coaches have to be on their A game. Brey won out tonight over Slick Rick. ND was ready for UL's press.

WOW... OK. Louisville is NOT overrated. They are a top ten team. You think our defensive performance was bad but I don't know of any team that would have beat Nova that night. I don't know of many teams that would have beat ND tonight (MAYBE UCONN). Don't know if you watched the game, but ND was on fire. I don't think you watched the game because of the press comment. I think ND had three TO's in a row in the first half due to the press. They were still not ready for the press.
As to the "Who said Marquette was bad" (I think by Chicos) comment. Look at almost every single post after the Nova Game. Its countless. That is who the post was directed to. Which is probably pointless since those people who post that garbage after a game probably do not read between games.

hmmm...ND had a whopping
8 turnovers total tonight...and yes, I did watch the game. For not so quick guards, UND did a very nice job breaking down the press...then setting up quickly on offense, including setting Mac, Ayers for quick uncontested threes. Everything is relative I guess, but in comparison to their most recent games, ND used their perimeter very effectively tonight against the press. This provided them the spacing they needed to get shots off. Buzz's scheme against ND was much more effective...letting Hagrid go off, getting them into a half court and pressuring the perimeter--not letting them set up, denying their spacing. U of L has talent but is undisciplined--they are driving Pitino crazy. So, yes I think they are over rated, but capable of turning it on (Pitt).
As for MU's D the other night, no one was satisfied with that effort or the recent trends. Adjustments will be made. Questioning or analyzing MU does not mean disloyalty...it means difference of opinion. This is a message board to talk hoops--it's a hobby. Fact is, I am guessing there isn't probably any one more loyal here to MU bball than Chicos.
Look. I don't know Chicos and Chicos may be fine but there are plenty of folks coming out of the woodworks after a loss to talk smack. 8 TO's sure... How many came STRAIGHT from the full court press? I recall at least 4. AND I remember at least 2 (maybe 3) timeouts coming from a full court trap. You can take it back but do you still think ND was really ready for the press?...4 TO's and 2 (or 3) Timeouts to bail them out? It seemed like the PG was the only one who knew a press was coming because every other ND player would run upcourt and leave his teammate out to dry in the backcourt.
The point that I am making is that MU is a solid wins and we have a bunch of solid wins. I want to send all the haters in the MU camp out of town. No team is perfect. Everyone has bad nights. Everyone has good nights. South Florida was a bad night and Nova had a good night. Move on. I really think ND could have beat just about any team in the nation tonight. And that is the Big East. No one is safe. THAT is why the 9 and 0 record was and still is (fourth best ever in Big East) impressive. I don't care who you play. 9 and 0 in this conference is really really really good. We are 9 and 2 and we need to take care of business at home.
GO MU

What exactly did that game kill?
+1 this isnt college football, and we aren't going going to the Rose Bowl.
