not a whole lot of swagger tonight, offensively or defensively. esp for james.....
one really has to wonder at this point.
Seems like we always struggle in February. St Johns and Seton Hall will be a good chance to pick up momentum again.
Seton Hall has been hot lately though.
I think the team is tired. The starting 5 play a TON of minutes and we run like crazy. I just think the season is catching up to us some.

One really had to wonder why all of these sub-50 post members come around talking like this only after losses.

Gotta start somewhere ;)
I've been positive ;D
Two home games to right the ship going into the final five is what we need.
-I am sub 50 poster, hope I don't get called out :)
Where the hell was the defense?
Where the hell was free throw shooting?
Where the hell was blocking out?
Where the hell was the coaching?
We are again starting our end of the year fade out. I get so frustrated seeing this crap every year.
James should be practicing FT's forever.
are you disagreeing that the performance, particularly defensively was a bit uninspired at times?
I'm sorry I decided to start posting when MU lost a second straight. Road games are tough... no doubt, esp in the big east.
But by all means, if you have something positive to say about the tone we set tonight on the road, I'm all ears.
I'm the farthest thing from one of THOSE fans... just frustrated, bc I think we could really do better
This wasn't a game that I expected MU to win tonight anyways. A better showing would have been nice, but when Villanova shoots like they did from behind the arc, there isn't much that anyone could have done.
Not a good game tonight, but as bad as MU played Villanova was unstoppable.

I don't think so. I think we are who we thought we were. ;D The next two games are wins and then we could lose all of the last 5 or certainly go 1-4.
Then again, we might surprise as well. Still love the senior leadership and the athleticism. Need to get better on the defensive end and start executing.

Agree that they're tired. We ask our guards to do a ton of work both on offense and defense, and to ask them to log 38 minutes is going to tire them out. Don't know if it is cumulative or just the pace of this particular game. We were defintely out of gas the last 5-10 minutes of this game.

oh, I'm sure. BTW, MUScoop is open 24/7. Even after wins if you didn't know.

Don't get me wrong ... I browse the board all the time. Have done so all season. Contributing, well that's another story.

Come on now. You're posting on here after a loss, aren't you? And where did this magical 50 post number come from?
Chill out.
Geez ptm you're so negative all the time

some of us don't feel the need to add such insightful posts as +1 to boost us up to the thousand post club ;D
Sorry - can't live on the board.

Best. Post. Of. The. Day.
Message boards are for dorks, including me. And arguing on them is even more lame.
But I get what PTM is saying, it happended after USF and the Dayton losses too. A handful of mystery posters come out of the woodworks to blast MU.
I don't think we peaked too early, we just hadn't played anyone really top notch yet. Our earlier win against Nova seems like it was our best win of the year. I mean, WVU and ND have fallen off a cliff. What's next...Providence? Cincinatti?
We always knew that the late part of the year was where the meat of the schedule was. That continues to be the case.

Gotta throw Georgetown in there before them two.
Our team is great this year. Who would have thought we would be 20-4 at this point? We are a completely guard-oriented team and undersized. Nova had some bigger guys, home court, a bench, and were shooting the lights out. They won't shoot that well the rest of the season. Needless to say the defense wasn't amazing, but they were still hitting shots. Our offense looked good. I'm more concerned about tournament play and no injuries to the big 4 really.
