Jimmy Butler is a baller and I am glad to have him on our team. He snagged 8 boards (4 offensive) tonight and blocked two shots, one of them an extremely key block. He's a worker, knows his role and does his job. 23 games in, he's already one of the best jucos MU has had in the modern era.

+2
I'd like to see him get more of a chance in the offense. He's deferring to the Big Four, which I guess he should, but it would be nice to see him, get a larger role.
My question with Butler is can he beat his defender off the dribble effectively enough. How would you people rate his first step and explosiveness going to the rack? I can already tell he has a nice mid-range game, which is definately a big plus.
He is no Jerel or Dom with the first step, but I would say he is same level as Wes. He well should defer to the big 4 at this stage... we've seen some sweet and semi-sweet moves from him so far, I for one am excited to see what he has in his bag of tricks once he gets a few reigns taken off him.
I guess I had it in the back of my mind that he was taken as the 'buddy' of Fulce, not as a talent himself; having said that, I've been slow to warm to his play, but appreciative of his performance. I do think he is still a weakness on D, but quickly improving. Very impressive-great addition. Finally can rotate Wes or Lazar or Dwight once in a while w/o the huge let-down.
