Kudos to DJ. Have to give him a ton of credit for changing his game this year--despite the shooting woes he's become a true playmaker and his ability to handle the ball a ton with hardly any turnovers in an uptempo game is remarkable and somewhat taken for granted. That's not to mention the pressure he puts on the ball. Seems to me in the past we would always talk about pressuring the ball, but it wasn't really done. Now it's more than talk, and truly our best chance of mitigating the lack of height. Still don't understand the logic between letting Stanford casually dump it into the post time and time again last year in the tourney. Anyway, I digress--way to go DJ! Nice to see him get the recognition.
DJ as a defense player and as a playmaker... I don't think anyone on the board or elsewhere doubts his skills.
A lot of people here complain when he takes shots outside of 12 feet or so. Thing is, I truly believe if we are to have big time success this year, DJ will have to be able to hit his outside shots. I am not saying he has to shoot 5-7 from three. But, a three or two plus some mid-range shots falling.
Sooner or later one of the other three players are going to get into foul trouble or have a really bad game. We need three of four players firing for any given game. Otherwise, without much bench or an inside game, we lose to a good team.
My point is that DJ will have to take outside shots despite the protests around here. He needs to have some confidence in it for when it is really required. Plus, we need to keep the defenses honest... otherwise the defense will just sag when he gets the ball.
Don't forget the NC State game. If DJ can hit 1-2 threes per game and hit a few mid-range shots, along with his great finishing ability near the basket, we will really be tough to beat.
We need him with confidence in his shot.

Since this already been posted twice --
with the link (and already merged into a single thread where this one will undoubtedly end up, too), I don't think it will be necessary for your to post the link when you get back from class.
This should be STICKIED along with the McNeal one!
Way to earn some votes tonight!
I go with my homer bias, but just like last year's voting, if there are 6 or 7 other players on the list that I can't argue James being better than in any way, I'm not voting for him.
Sad thing is, Bob Cousy at 75 is a better FT shooter.
