Bill chimes in on Buzz's post-game with Mac. Someone tell Bill that threatening a coach may jeopardize his impartiality as a journalist. Although, I think he may have given that up some time ago
If ever a "journalist" could be called a no-talent ass clown Bill Michaels would be it.
He is real hard on people when his station isn't the flagship, but it will be a cold day in hell before he rips anyone from UW, The Bucks, Brewers or Packers. He will talk in vague terms about the direction of teams and that kind of mindless banter, but will not rip anyone.
Bill Michael's is a joke. I could care less what he thinks of our program.

you forgot the teal!!
I didn't know that anyone still listened to the little unit or his station.
WTMJ treating the Brewers, Badgers, Packers and Bucks with kid gloves is akin to the Madison stations (WIBA, WTSO) treating the Badgers with kid gloves. Objectivitiy, for the most part, is gone in sports journalism. There are a few exceptions ... Michael Hunt and Tom Oates come to mind. But guys like Mike Lucas and Bill Michaels long ago gave up any hint of being objective.
Give me a break ... Michaels deciding he will not attend MU press conferences? That's your job, fool.

I've had some personal contact with Michaels, and his ego is, well, generously sized. Last August he showed up late for a committee meeting we were involved with. His proud excuse: "the national media are all over me regarding the Brett Favre/Jets story."
Gimme a break--like Peter King and ESPN were calling Michaels to get his intimate and inside knowledge of the Brett Favre story. Puke.
Actually, he definitely was on ESPN all the time during that whole debacle. I remember thinking "is this really the best the Milwaukee media had to offer?"
Bill Michaels is the worst in a town of absolutely terrible talk radio.
He does no research or work. This October after the Brewer were done on a Thursday night he had no idea what time or what day the Packers game was on. One sentence later he asked who the Badgers played.
When you are a "sports guy" and you have nothing better to do how do you not know when either of ther state's two football teams play?
The fact that he sort of threatened Williams is hilarious. What a tool.
There's a good response to his blog now.
Because I'd rather his site not get too many page views lest he continue to bad-mouth his betters, I'll post the text here:
QuoteIn the section about Buzz Williams, I am glad to see that Mr. Michaels admits a clear issue with present day media. That issue is that if you cross the media, they will throw journalistic integrity and unbiased reporting out the window and out of spite hold different people and teams to different levels of scrutiny on whim and fancy. Bravo, media. Bravo.
Succinct and well reasoned. Bravo yourself, anonymous poster :)

It's very interesting in all weekend recaps on local sports on "The Unit's" blog, not one mention of the UW loss to NW and the losing streak at six games. No, it's much more easier to follow the company line and leave any hint of UW's recent failures off topic. Give me a break. So a little coach eruption after an emotional game somehow makes MU and Williams less?? We're 8-0 and 19-2 at the moment. That's the story. To use the headline from Michael Hunt's Sunday column, "MU is playing like a champ." Deal with it Unit.
no message...
Michaels is a pud.
He's good friends with Huggy Bear, enough said...
I love how he blasts Crean now yet a few days after Crean left he had him on his show and kissed his ass for about 15 minutes. I mean it was one big wet kiss after another from "the big unit"...... ::)
You guys are right...he really is a putz.
It's too bad Homer moved over to 540. If you want to listen to sports talk after 6 p.m., you have nothing. NOTHING. Michaels is an unprepared name-dropper who has difficulty speaking the English language - if he does get facts right, he's usually mispronouncing a word or using the wrong tense. I'm surprised TMJ lets him have his own blog.
I stopped listening to the Sport show on TMJ because of Michaels. He does not talk sport, whines anything and everything about MU, and worst sin of all, throwing softball at Crean.
One poster was right. After Homer moved, there is no sport talk after 6 pm. The problem is also that I can't catch Homer easily because of work computer policy. ?-(
