Title: slick rick
Post by: Doctor V on January 28, 2009, 08:59:11 PM
It seems as though this guy has this Louisville team in prime position to win a conference title- they must atleast be the favorites at this point?

The scheduling Gods have smiled on the Cardinals

-already 7-0 with tough (maybe lucky) wins against ND and Nova w/ legit wins @Syr and vs Pitt

-overall schedule has home and home against ND, USF, and WVU. Not necessarily easy, but with the way ND has looked definitely much easier than it looked pre-season

-they play(ed) ALL of the other top 3 teams as of right now, MU, UConn, and Pitt at home

-still have to travel to SJU, ND, Cincy, Gtown, and WVU...a few tough games in there but 4-1 is not out of the question

-still face MU, UConn, and WVU at home

point is that they seem to have the easiest schedule of the teams with 2 losses or less to this point. also, UConn and Pitt play each other twice down the stretch (good thing for MU as well)

if they take care of business at home (undefeated or 1 loss) and survive on the road (1 or 2 losses) its tough to see this team not being right there for the Conference Title

That trip to Freedom Hall is looming larger and larger as we both pile up the wins.  That team is loaded, with TWill, Clark, and Samuels.  That game might be for the title.

I still don't think they are as good as their record. Then again, people are saying that about MU.

I think Louisville is totally beatable, or at least they were, but they've started playing like a team possessed again. that game is looming.

They'd be my pick right now, but that seems to change on a weekly basis.

I do agree that they have been playing real well for the last 2 to 3 weeks. and the schedule does favor them. They also have had some luck victory at Nova was slop. Nova misses about 8 free throws in the last 3 minutes and missed 3 tip-ins in the last 5 seconds for Loserville's 1 point win.

That being said, you definitely need luck in this league. I think Loserville will end up with at most 3 losses, do not be surprised if it is less. But remember, they did lose at home to UNLV.

I think the key to beating them is to control them from the offensive boards, pack it in and make them beat you with the 3. They have had several games this year where they were like 4 for 25 from 3.

I hate Pitino--he has been a prima donna.

not only is louisvile realy really talented and playing at a high level but they have easily the most favorable schedule in the BE.  MArq, Pitt, and UCyonn only once and all at HOME.
