There is a poll on ESPN's college basketball front page asking who is the best team in the Big East. The choices are Pitt, UConn, MU, Louisville and Cuse. Right now MU is only getting 7% of the vote. (We are winning the state of Wisconsin with 57% of the vote). So if you get a chance, stop by and vote. We'll try to improve our numbers....

We are getting 6% in the international vote
why would "we" want to improve our numbers? who cares if a poll on espn.com has mu at 7%. get some perspective.

I realize that, but this is also a board where we sit and debate crap like what our chances of getting a #1 seed in the tournament are, so I think everyone could use some perspective. But way to be a buzzkill, ass.
As of 5 minutes ago, we are in the lead with 32% (hella gold states), UCONN at 30% (only getting votes from the northeast) UL at 27%
The international scene knows w'sup...they voted for us too.
18,600something votes
Uhhh...gold is Pitt. MU is green with 7% :(
where is the respect - Illinois?

I believe that the perspective is that MU directly benefits from any increase in our national (and international) name recognition. ESPN is broadcast across the world. If we, as fans, can do a little to get MUs name out there (and this is free, mind-you. No marketing budget required to vote in an ESPN poll) it will increase our ability to recruit outside of the midwest and even outside of the US. Heck, maybe a long-lost alum or two will see MU on the news and decide to throw some money at the bball program.
It may not be anything groundbreakingly important, but as they say; Every little bit helps!

Haha oh yeah...huh? I was matched the wrong bars with the wrong schools, and I just assumed that all the Gold was us...makes more sense then green.
LET'S GO MARQUETTE, LET'S PROVE THESE DUMBASSES WRONG!
MU now up to 9% (8% internationally) following the win tonight.
^they call that the "Jay Bilas effect"
