Does anybody know how the floating head posters behind the baskets at mu games started (or how)? There is a drunken argument happening about it right now.
Tom Crean invented them.
Obviously Indiana. Don't you watch Indiana home games on the Big Ten Network?
San Diego State first used them from which Marquette took the idea. Marquette made them prominent though with their TV exposure.
It really blew up when the student section was shown on PTI with the heads, mostly because there were Kornheiser & Wilbon heads.

TT is correct about SDS using them and MU taking the idea. Recently, ND and other schools have attempted to contact MU about how to make them because they aren't intelligent enough to figure it out on their own. :D
IIRC, it started in the 2005-2006 season at MU.
I have always hated the heads.
It really took on a life of its own when we found corporate sponsorship to fund them.
