67-83 with 3:08 to go...
OSU barely beat Tennessee as well..
clemson, the ncaa's last unbeaten team, was defeated as well.
UNC game not quite over yet--they clawed back from a 20 point deficit down to 3 with 16 secs left.
no kidding!!! this brings back memories of the duke maryland game from years ago.. duke down by 12 with 59 seconds left and they manage to win!
but viriginia tech hangs on for the huge upset! first team to beat duke and north carolina in the same week.. wow.. THEY could be ranked in the next poll or two.
Also, UCLA only beat USC by 1.

NC St did that feat in 2003.... they showed it during the game... NC St was the last team to do it, I am sure there are more before 2003.
I dont buy this UCLA thing - very weak conference
I dont think the PAC 10 is weak at all. Washington is a legit team and Oregon can hang with anyone as well. Not to mention the job Tony Bennett is doing at Wash St
UW could very well be No. 1 in a few weeks.

LOL...what are you smoking.
The Pac Ten may be the best conference in America this year. UCLA is very very good. USC very good. I'm surprised UCLA even won the game on the road at USC. Cal is good. Washington State good. Washington good. Arizona good. Oregon good.
They may send 6 teams which is 60% of their conference...that would be incredible if they did.
Currently they are #1 conference in the country in the RPI and I suspect they hang on to that ranking all season long. Very, very good conference.

chicos - you are obviously a west coaster. I have heard this argument from my friends in Cali too, but I dont buy it. March will tell us - as I recall UCLA had the easiest path in the dance Last year.
I bet you love Kapono too.
Cal is actually not that good, the only decent team they've beat is Washington, and thats only because Washington has played like absolute dogcrap since thier win over LSU almost a month ago. They've dug themselves a deep hole they might not be able to get out of. They'll probably need to win 7 of thier last 10 conference games plus at least take Pitt down to the wire in Feb. to make the tourney now. Stanford may have a better shot than them right now since they were missing players during thier early season losses, which the committee is supposed to compensate for. The Pac-10 will still get 5 bids but will only get 6 if Stanford or Washington can go on a run and win the last big OCC game.
And despite all of the final four participants beating the no.1 seed in thier bracket (thus doing the heavy lifting themselves), I would have to say that Florida actually had the easiest road to the final four. They beat a 14, 11, 7, and 1 seed to get there. UCLA went over a 15, 10, 3, and 1.
