Lead article by Marco (student writer) on Scout board is good locker room material for Depaul. Many board members call it unprofessional and lacks class. Dodds dancing and defending. .
Dodds is a .... End of story.
I think if it was any student, there might be a problem with it but he had season tickets for DePaul for 3 seasons. He knows the frustrations the fans are going through. It's more of a State of the program type of article than one insulting the current team.
"Perhaps playing in front of packed houses would excite the players, but it's hard when the student section is more than half empty on any given night. They're too busy at the nearest bar in Lincoln Park throwing up "deuces" for the camera."
I would say that this excerpt is not classy.
It wasn't mentioned on the other board but the reference to the Lincoln park bars was at best a paraphrsing of a post by a student on the DU scout board responding to the question what is the bball cultheure at DU.
I thought of pointing it out but didn't need the the flames.
The whole scenario raises the question of the internet and do the old standards of journalism apply, anybody can be sports writer on the internet but do the old rules apply or is anything fair game because it is the intenet.
there is a reason a board like this one without the backing and use of a network like scout still on most days has as many MU fans on it as the Scout board. Absolutely nothing worthwhile on that board unless you want to pay for it and then the pay stuff is so infrequent and borderline worthless it is a rip off. Dodd's blind love for Crean and absolute unwillingness find even potential flaw in Crean is pathetic. His posts are so boring and repetitive that when i rarely read them they sound like Ben Stein in my mind.
