Seemed to have nothing but positive things to say about MU and especially Crean:
commented that marquette used to be called the warriors and Mcneil resembles a warrior - I think he said an ultra-warrior
Matthews is a paul pressey type point forward, great passer.
James reminds him of Jameer Nelson
I guess I don't get your point. Which of those comments, if any do you disagree with?
Some have commented that our talent pool is not that rich, Ricks comments suggest clearly otherwise.
It is also very clear to me that Crean or someone on the staff knows how to motivate and adjust for new defensive strategies. Player development of our bigs is also seen in Burke and Ooze.
Some of the most biased announcing I've ever heard. Luckily he was biased for my team so I didn't mind.
majerus had one too many moronic comments....in the first 3 minutes of the game. the whole dollhouse thing was cute i guess. he just wouldn't stop likening james to a football player and talking about how he is "cagy" after the inbound off the wva player's back. btw, someone needs to teach him how to say "offense", its OFFense not O-ffense. nonetheless, i see why majerus does marquette games despite his less than quality commentating skills. didn't he do the MU G-town game last year?
Urgh! I forgot to DVR the game. Question for those who saw it on TV--what was Rick doing with the doll house anyway? It was a pretty big, very pink doll house, and he took the top off of it right before half time ended.
he was trying to explain the 1-3-1 zone with it. Needless to say, it wasn't quite ESPY-type material. ::)

And he made a lot of interesting comments in that game too if I remember correctly
He certainly had nothing oh-fensive to say about MU.

He said MU was a great school, earned two degrees from MU. Rattled off some of the Jesuits he had as professors. Spoke about Al not being so much concerned about how many points you were scoring but the valuable lessons of life the players were learning. Called us the Warriors at least twice which always good to hear. ;)
He is perhaps the most astute game analyst going.
So he has tremendous pride in his degrees from and other connections to Marquette University. This bothers some of you?
Yes, Rick Majerus is one large, large man. For his well-being, he should drop a bunch of weight. But it seems really small to read here that some dismiss him as little more than 'Fat Rick.'
He is without a doubt the smartest basketball mind alive, let's stop calling him Fat Rick. The man is an absolute genius. He deserves much more respect than a bunch of internet dorks whining about his departure 20 some years ago. People think TC had unfair / unreasonable expectations, they should have been around for what RM had to deal with...of course those same people seem to think that MU hoops didn't exist from 1977-2003.
But your original 'Fat Rick' crack lives on in almost every reply to your original post. Oops.
"Fat Rick" is a term of endearment. He's a great guy, with a great appetite.
agree.
saw him at the BC and he's even larger now than I've ever seen him.
what a good egg.
or steak and egg.
