Title: There Is No Reason To Lose Tomorrow
Post by: nola03 on January 23, 2009, 10:42:16 AM
Simple as that. You can spout "every Big East game is tough" and "we shouldn't overlook anyone" all you want. I'm not buying it.

1. MU is rolling with eight straight wins.

2. 18,000 strong -- with students.

3. Dominating home performances against better competition in WVU and Cincy.

4. DePaul is an absolutely woeful offensive team. They shouldn't get more then 65.

I've tried over the week to believe the Demons stand a chance. They don't. I understand one loss is nothing to end the world over, but, if this experienced MU team loses to the Demons at home it will undoubtedly be one of the most embarrassing moments in recent history and ratchet to new levels the pressure on Monday night.

Are you still talking about this game?  I already have it as a w in the win column.  When are we getting out ND analysis?

I already have the ND pregame set to go on Cracked Sidewalks.  I think Kevin has the recap partially written too.

"Marquette annihilates DePaul by score of XX - XX"

Seriously, if the score is within 15 points, I would consider that a mild upset.

Better yet:  "XXX-XX"

If we lose, I will motion for the elimination of "National Marquette Day." Or perhaps it could remain and be held in conjunction with a women's volleyball game or tennis meet. Our record on NMD is oddly horrible.

With how bad our defense looked for 30 minutes against Providence, anything is possible.

Look I have been around this program for a long time and I know that anything is possible. I like the fact that they seem more focused on the day to day stuff with Buzz than they did with Cream(sorry not a typo) so I think this will be different. MU wins by at least ten but please no more pre-writing stuff I know in they past they might have lost this one by ten.

Love the confidence in our camp and I am going to be at the game so I want to see an arse wooping but the truth is that our players are human and if they take the court with our attitude the unthinkable could happen.  I mean, Chaminade lost to Indiana... anything can happen. ;D

We're not wearing the baby blues, are we?   ;)

Holy cow!  This has to be the worst publicized NMD ever - I didn't even know tomorrow was NMD - there's not even an event in Colorado.

I suppose I'm partially to blame (for Colorado), but it's not like the university can't find me to ask me to help - my contact info is on the DNS record for muscoop.com!!!

Boston College should have manhandled Harvard. Did they?

I hear you...but for some reason, I'm nervous about this game. I'm pretty confident in a win, but I'm not sure it will be the blowout some are expecting.

I just think Koshwal and Tucker are way too good for them to be a pushover.

They've played some pretty good teams pretty tough. I dunno, if those two guys get any help from their teammates, it could be interesting.

I'm totally buying into the idea they are playing for pride and will come out like caged animals. They've been pushed around to start off the conference season...what if they come out swinging tomorrow? As our Badger fans love to say, this is likely their "Super Bowl".

Or am I crazy...???  ;D

Anything can happen in the BEast.  I feel confident we'll win, but also know that things happen - a team is hot, one is not.  We need to do the fundamentals as we have been and we will be fine.  DePaul is hungry for a conference win.  We need to starve them for a couple more days :)

100% agree.  Should NEVER EVER overlook an opponent.
