If you didn't read my feature story on Madison Central basketball senior Jeremy Adams in Thursday's Clarion-Ledger, you'll have a chance to catch the longer version of the story in Saturday's Herald.
But here's some quick hit information about Adams, the 6-foot-5, 215-pound versatile player who has suddenly burst onto the scene. He's averaging 27 points a game and nearly 8 rebounds for the Jaguars (7-9, 0-1 in division), who play Murrah tonight. He set career and school highs with two 43-point games this season (against Gulfport and Noxubee County). He scored 40 points against Velma Jackson.
This leads us into our next point: He is being highly recruited all of the sudden. Below is the latest recruiting news on Adams. Stay tuned to the blog for up-to-date recruiting news on Adams throughout the next month.
Southern Miss, Houston and South Florida joined about five smaller Division I schools that have offered Adams scholarships.
According to Jeremy's father, Jim, Adams will soon have an offer from Marquette.
The following schools have shown strong interest: Ole Miss and Wake Forest.
These schools have shown a moderate interest in Adams: Cincinnati, Memphis, Texas A&M, Oklahoma State, St. John's and Baylor.
Of note: Texas A&M coaches will be at tonight's game against Murrah. And Wake Forest coaches will be at the MLK tournament Jan. 19.
According to his dad, Adams is in the process of scheduling visits to Marquette and South Florida.
So, that's where Buzz was yesterday.
He went 2 for 20 with Buzz watching so not sure what that will do to the situation?
ESPN doesn't have anything on him. They have him graded as a 40, which is their ranking of anyone who hasn't been reviewed yet. There is another Jeremy Adams listed on there who is graded as a 72. He is listed as from Madison, MN, which makes me think that it might be the same person and it is just a mistake. Anyone have any other reviews on him from other recruiting agencies?
Jeremy is a monster. He had a bad game at the tourney, but stuff happens.
Thanks Jeremy. I hope you pick a solid school
Is he a 2009 recruit?
