Here is some info on his latest game. Erik Williams, Cypress Springs: In a 71-70 comeback win over Langham Creek on Friday, the senior forward scored 33 points, had 20 rebounds and blocked seven shots. Williams scored 26 points in the second half, including the game-winning basket with 17 seconds left. For the season he is averaging a double double in scoring and rebounds, 24ppg and 10rpg with 4 blocks/game.
The team is below par this year after graduating an excellent senior class. It appears Erik is growing into a role as team leader after a slow start. The thought of him and Hayward at the forwards will change the look of Buzz's team next year.
One correction to the above post. Maymon obviously should be added to that list at forward. In fact, I can easily see the three of them starting with their positions interchangeable at 3-4-5.
I don't see how Williams doesn't get 20 minutes a game next year. We will be young and green. I think it will be fun watching the next generation thrown into the fire... EWill, Maymon, June... People keep saying Buycks is the real deal... hope so!

I would probably see those 3 at the 2-3-4
O Tule will be at the 5. Buzz said recently that Buycks is the best guard in the country so I think he is the real deal. Williams will likely come off the bench.

Remember, how much fun it was watching Wesley, Jerel, and Dominic their first year. It was like constantly playing with house money. People's expectations were pretty low going into the season and their ability to compete with the big boys of the BEast was awesome and as much fun to watch as any season I can remember.

Speaking of Buycks, he had a monster game this weekend against #7 ranked Southeastern.
Dwight had 24 points, including three three-pointers, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals. Indian Hills won and is now ranked #3 in NJCAA.
In his previous game, Dwight scored 25 points, including five three-pointers.

Thats the thing, my expectations are not as low as some going into next year due to how good of players I think Buycks and Maymon are going to be next year. They have the bodies and defensive abilities to step into the Big East.
Eric Williams has loads of ability but his defense is not good. Junior has loads of ability but I question his defensive capabilities next year. The good thing is that with Otule and Liam manning the paint next year we could very well see a huge spike in the number shots that are blocked that will mask some of our defensive deficiencies but defense will dictate playing time next year not offense.

He said that? That is awesome. Its nowhere near time too start thinking about anything beyond this year as well as this season is going, but it is exciting to think about this next group of players...

I could be wong, but I'm fairly certain he meant Buycks is the best Junior-College guard in the country. Still very promising, but quite a difference from being the best overall guard in the country, considering he's never played D1 ball.
I am sorry to throw out the name. But the drastic change in the team from this year to next year is telling of Crean's recruiting job in the last two years. How a coach can have a job for about a decade and his footprint does not last more than a year is very telling. I have this NYE feeling about next season. I am very excited but at the same time, I have a good feeling its not gonna be fun.

Uh huh ::), of course if he would have stayed then we would have nick williams, Tyshawn Taylor and quite possibly still have trevor. Not that anything could keep there from being a 'drastic change' when you are graduating 3 1000 point scorers. But I'm pretty sure we'll still be on national broadcasts and they aren't sending us back to conference USA and our new head coach looks pretty good, nice of Crean to hire him for us.... sounds like more than a one year footprint to me.
Sorry yes he said he was the best jc gaurd in the country by far, still very promising, when have we had a jc that good? He said it on an audio interview on the other board I think.
I'm really hopeful the Buycks is able to come in and play minutes immediately. In general I'm really excited to see how next year plays out with the new players and the new starting lineups. As great as this year's been, I'm starting to get a little tired of being scared to death of playing a team with a legitimate post presence.

I agree this kid is long and lean more of a 2 or 3. He looks real good he had 40+ in a game this year with 5 three pointers.
Is it me or does MU look like we have a new 3 or 4 amigos?
I think they are talented and will be very exciting. However, anything more than 7 Big East wins next year will be a miracle. Uconn went from 14-2 our first year to 6-10
Uconn 14-2,6-10, 13-5
I sort of like the idea of watching Frosh develop into smooth playing Seniors. We have not seen that for a long time. This next group will hopefully develop with Lazar leading them to some surprise finishes. I expect Lazar to be very solid next year.
I'm kinda hoping some of our frosh don't make it to their senior years. Having one be a lottery pick after his junior year would be not-so-bad. ::)
