Louisville. Ridiculous.

In poll logic, they did just knock of #1 & are unbeaten in conference.  In reality, they are a tough team despite the non-conference losses.  Hopefully they go on a skid again.

I personally think we should be higher then Louisville and Clemson...

who has Clemson beat, look at their schedule, its a joke.  They have done this cupcake schedule three straight years, of going 10 or more wins before their first loss... and they end up being mediocre at the end.

Yea Louisville usually does this. I think I even remember n article where Pitino says he doesn't even care about the non-conference W-L's becaushe is just trying to get his guys to play how he wants them too. It is  good thing that we are ranked higher in the ESPN, that is where people see rankings shown more anyways. Especially since they will advertise our Big Monday game coming up.

Louisville is ridiculous, and how is ND still ranked?

because they lost to a ranked opponent on the road and were above us in the rankings before that incident.

Yeah, but cmon, 5 losses, they have only beaten 2 ranked teams, and both of those have 4 losses.

Same reason Duke lost two games and never dropped out of the top 10.  And its the same reason that MU loses one game and drops out of the top 25 (from a 14, I think?).
I think that sports are almost 100% about bragging rights and that is why polls matter for most of us.  But there are teams that the pollster like and teams that pollster want to dislike.  Pollsters like the UNC's and Duke's and big conferences.  Like MN, they were 17 and lost to Northwestern and are now 20.  Northwestern is really bad.  Imagine how far we will drop if we lose to DePaul.  We have to pray ND can keep that ranking when we play them.

Clemson has UNC Wednesday.  They'll drop after this week.  (Or UNC will drop haha).

Let's not complain about other Big East teams being ranked higher than us or, especially, ranked at all. The more highly ranked BE teams, the better.

Id rather have other BEAST teams getting more love and hype from the national media. I think our guys use it as even more motivation to prove themselves to the clowns at ESPN. So the longer we can play as good as we are and still get less coverage and love than other teams in the conference is a good thing.
