First of all, great game on Saturday. I thought we were going to pull it off, but MU was simply the better team. I hope the "incident" didn't sour your view of PC fans (even though it was a player's family).
Come NCAA time when my allegiance moves to all BE teams (we only get a bid once every 5 years it seems :(), Marquette is definitely one of my favorite non-PC teams to root for (maybe bc we don't have that nasty of a rivarly yet hahaha). The Three Amigos are just awesome, and going to be fun to watch in March.
Anyways, I thought you guys might find my post amusing.

Good luck the rest of the year! (maybe we will catch you in the 2nd round of the BET! ;) )
Reading the Providence message boards it's pretty clear PC fans are as shocked as anyone that the guy escaped security. Every team has some dumbass fans. (Pittsburgh of course has more than others!)
Good luck the rest of the year (excluding a MU match-up in the BET or NCAAs!)
Also pretty good list you guys cooked up :D
Friarblog,
Thanks for your post. It was a bizzare incident with no one really at fault (well, except the "Dunks" security group). It was just one of those games. I see Friar fans are on the ledge after the loss. Every program has a loss like this sonner or later. I remember us blowing a 25 point lead against N.D. in the late eighties. Let's hope this doesn't turn into one of the many myths like with some of our older rivals (read: Looeyville).
I can only imagine if this incident had happened against Looeyville what the posts would be 5, 10 years from now...
Jereal McNeal scrapped his face then Fulce elbowed him on purpose. Then, the Marquette bench egged on his brother.
I hope to God U-of-L doesn't have a journalism school. ;D
Friarblog,
Good luck to you the rest of the season. You have a lot of very good players on your team and I hope we don't play you again. I think that you will definitely get the big win over a ranked team that you were looking for at some point.
Friarblog;
Ditto on good luck the rest of the season. Please kick butt with Looservcille and Syracuse because right now they look like the top contenders, although there are really about 6.
Please send your top 10 reasons to Mr. Xavier. He will probably need them if he has a trial for disorderly conduct. I especially like the Burlington Coat factory excuse.
Dano: Don't worry about U-of-L having a journalism school. Or any school for that matter.
Being an MU fan exiled to RI for many years, here are the real top 10 reasons that Jonathan Xavier stormed the court:
10. Wanted to call a timeout so the Friars could regroup and couldn't get the refs attention.
9. Was getting a head start for the Trinity Brew House so he could welcome the MU fans post game with some "real RI hospitality".
8. With snow in the forecast, didn't want to be late to pick up bread and milk.
7. Just got turned around on his 12th trip to the beer stand.
6. Thought he saw the albino PC mascot wave him onto the floor.
5. Heard that Gov. Carcieri had decided to lay off the refs and wanted to apply for the job.
4. Simply got lost on the way to his MENSA meeting.
3. Wanted to add a Sportcenter appearance to his already impressive rap sheet.
2. Heard they were giving out free neck tattoos at the free throw line.
and the NUMBER ONE reason Jonathan Xavier rushed the court.....
one word.....
PAWTUCKET!
Let's not forgot, he wanted to show off his Costanza-like gore-tex jacket to the crowd.
Gotta admit, that Top 10 List made me chuckle on this early Monday morning.
I cannot believe the ESPN continued to show replays of this event. ESPN!!! I thought that they were large advocates of not showing fans doing stupid things.
I don't know if others picked up on this, but I just couldn't get over who he was signalling for a timeout as he stepped on the court.
The timeout call just has me rolling on the floor. Like something out of a Harlem Globetrotter's act. F'ing hilarious.
To understand the Marvin Barnes one, you have to watch this "interview"
If you have not seen this yet, its a must watch!

The best part was that he was calling a "mini time-out". He apparently didn't want to make a big deal out of the experience, so he made smallish time-out gestures. His ability to restrain himself should be complimented.

I wonder if Marvin would have approved Fulce "taking it" to Jeff Xavier. ;)
I thought he just wanted the ref to know he had called "next".
