Leaving Marquette!
With all the motivational tricks and gimmicks you employed over your career at MU, this was by far the best and your most creative.
I do not believe if you were still coaching at MU the team would be playing at this level. James, McNeal and especialy Matthews have elevated their respective games to the highest level of competition. Not to mention Lazar, who has stepped up big time. It is truly amazing how these young men have pulled together and are pushing MU to what may be a very special season.
Your decision to leave ignited such a fire in the belly that I think you deserve some credit for doing the right thing and moving out of Milwaukee.
The fact that this team has responded the way it has is truly amazing. This is the most exciting MU team to watch in a long time.
Thanks again Tom. This has all the makings for a memorable year in Milwaukee. And just think, it all started with your midnight run to bloomington. Who would have thunk it!!!!
79, you're a little off...TC's best trick was the Karate. Leaving was #2
Its all good.

I tend to think they had their own self motivation to win and to try their best, but I guess people can believe whatever motivation tactics they want.
So what will next year's motivation be if this year's is TC leaving? ;D
These guys are experienced, seasoned seniors - they have this year (their last) to make an impact; they buy into Buzz's offense and game; they want to win. That's all good. And I think they respect Buzz for what he has done so far.

It was meant tongue in cheek. I guess you missed it.
Why not enjoy this year instead of worrying about next year?????

Probably for the same reason you can't enjoy this year without starting yet another thread ripping Crean.

If it's not in teal, I miss it. ;)
And I'm enjoying this year like you can't believe. Having a great time. Why wouldn't I? Playing great, winning games, all is good. Hope we can keep it going when we play the meat of the conference.

where is the rip dude??? Chilll out.
I also appreciate now that we make in-game adjustments and have some semblance of an offense against a zone.
