Based upon the wiki, it looks like the best start since 77-78. We were close (16-3) in 2002-03, but freakin' East Carolina always seemed to have our number.

if i recall in 1992 we were 17-1 with the best record in the nation before choking with an inexperienced team and backing into the Dance.
