Title: Dwight Burke remains a nonfactor
Post by: MU Avenue on January 17, 2009, 09:57:16 PM
Dwight Burke is invisible on offense and meaningless on defense. He brings nothing to the table.

No matter Marquette's options, he should not be starting.

Providence clearly knew from the game's outset that Burke is ridiculously vulnerable and beatable on both ends of the court.

It is difficult to watch.

Two early fouls sent Dwight to the bench, and Fulce played great in his stead.

In first half Burke got two quick fouls, replaced with Hazel.  One minute later, Hazel makes dumb foul and the players start screaming at him.  Both did not play after that. Fulce plays till four fouls, then Hayward and Matthews play center.

No problem, win big, win small.  But can't wait to hear what Buzz has to say regarding playing that lineup all second half.  Especially since McDermott had like 15 points and 20 rebounds.

I thought we'd see Otule as an attempt to stop PC from scoring in the paint.  What did they have, like 30 paint points in the first half?  I really thought we'd see him.

Great win - road win in the Big East is a BIG win!
GO MARQUETTE!

I can't remember if it was the first foul or the second foul but Burke did land on his wrist and shook it after the play. That could have been partially why he was out or he just was not playing well enough. We got the victory and that is what matters!

Take it easy people Burke had foul trouble and no chance to stay in front of Mcdermott or #2.  #2 for them plays the PF but is smaller than Wes and can really drive.  Mcdermot is a SF in PF's body.  Tough matchup for Burke tonight.

Per Buzz, Burke and Hazel were getting beat down the floor so he sat them on the bench.
