by the hands of Dookie. 59-45 with 11 minutes to go in the game and Monroe is stuck on the bench with 4 fouls. Duke gone small and killing them.
They said it correctly on Gameday this morning...
"Top 4 in the ACC is much better than the top 4 in the Big East. But if you look at the top 10 overall, its the Big East hands down!"
Gtown chipping away. Got it under ten with around 7 to go.
Gtown hasn't been able to get within less than 9 over the past 5 minutes. Summers making plays, but clanking three straight FTs within a minute has to hurt.

The context of that has to be looked at though. ACC only has 12 teams where we have 16 in the BEast. Now if they said top half or top 2/3 of the the conference, then you can compare.
Georgetown is good, but I would put 4-5 teams in the BE ahead of them, possibly including MU. Duke is the first/second best team in the ACC. That, and playing the game at Cameron with Greg Monroe on the bench most of the 2nd half made this game nearly unwinnable for GU. I'd like to see Duke play Pitt or Uconn on a neutral court.

Well, the fourth/fifth-highest ranked Big East team playing AT the first/second-highest ranked ACC team isn't exactly the end-all be-all of comparisons, but four teams in the top 10 for the ACC is amazing.
Did that technical stand as Monroe's fourth foul? I only saw parts of the game, but having a ref call a technical on the visiting team's most important player, who was already in foul trouble, while that player is on the bench and the ref's back is to the bench is completely ridiculous. Even though Monroe played more after that he was clearly handcuffed on defense due to foul trouble.
i'm not saying that the result of that game is the be all end all in comparisons. Just that the comparison Gameday made this morning saying the BE is deeper through their top 10 teams is a little misleading since the BE has 4 more teams in it than the ACC.
Once thing I find promising for us against Gtown is that while Duke was in their 5 small set, they were able to really control the game by spreading it out and using their speed, something we can utilize as well.
