Nope, the next thing would be a certain coach donating millions of gallons of Diet Pepsi to communities lacking clean drinking water.

You are opposed to a simple gesture which produces hundreds of thousands of shoes for those without????? Really????? I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you seem like an a**. ;D

+1... Is it really that hard to have compassion on people who don't even have enough to afford clothing? That's why people resent Americans abroad. A little empathy in today's world would go a long way.
Any bets on how many toes get stepped in the huddles during timeouts? Doesn't seem too well thought out.
why don't they take the shoe money that these companies throw at top-notch schools and donate that to the needy?

Why gesture when you can actually do something. Going shoeless for one game sounds stupid and is a free throw away for 2 hours. Doing what Buzz does with Buzz's bunch actually means something but hey I did cast the first stone on myself. ;)

No charitable action is stupid. I'd rather someone give a pair of shoes (I gave 2 pair) then donate $20.00 to an organization. At least you know those shoes will be used. No telling where the $$ would go.

People have resented Americans abroad for at least 50 years. You should read the stories from France in Life Magazine about 3 months after the war.....I'm paraphrasing....`thank you America for saving us from the Germans but we don't like you and please get the hell out'
:D
If I can find the exact quotes I'll put them in there.
On this topic, if coaches want to go bare foot for this cause, knock your socks off....literally. In fact, that should be the slogan. I hope it is successful and I support the cause.
Superbar?
