this is an amazing team!
I love it, we have shown we can beat middle to bottom of the field, lets really show the country in these next few games what this team is all about.
It's amazing how much senior leadership plays in these games. I feel very comfortable with Wes, Dom, and Jerel leading this team!

Rob - not sure you knew that WVU and Villanova are considered NCAA tourney teams and in the top 25.
I am thrilled that we are 4-0, but we were favored in each game. We are 3-0 at home in conference and held on @Rutgers. Be happy, but don't project this to winning the BEast. Pitt, G-town, Uconn, 'Cuse are out there, are brutal, and we could continue to play excellent basketball and lose to all of them. Two with DePaul, plus USF, Seton Hall & St. John's get us 8. Nothing else is guaranteed. Celebrate with perspective.
DJ is playing LOCK DOWN D these days. He has made himself into a great defender. TC made DJ into a real defender. Hats off to both of them. Was a pretty exciting 10 days for the Warriors. Seniors, especially talented and confident ones, can win a ton of games.
I said it months ago that this team had Elite 8 or better talent. Not buying FF tickets yet but a high seed or bust with these guys.
Gymbar, you are right about DJ and you may be right about elite 8 potential. Still not sure how that translates to conference road games against other teams with elite 8 potential. The BEast is tough. You could be completely correct about the potential of this team and we could still end up at 11-7.
Do you think TC may have held back Matthews progress?

They won't be by Monday for the top 25, but yes...definitely in the mix for NCAA Tournament. Nova needs some good wins, however. Their best win is against St. Joe's.
We're 15-2 right now.
In the past 8 years we've been 15-3 twice and 15-4 twice, including the last two seasons.
Next game will be interesting, then we have an absolute layup with DePaul, then at Notre Dame. Definitely 2 of 3 is possible, even 3 of 3. I'd take 2 of three right now.
Lets try to beat Providence first. All BE games are beasts.

Especially road games.
Is it possible that having that mega backloaded schedule might be beneficial in that it will allow the team to get a head of steam going and get comfortable with what they are doing before playing the projected best teams?

I know where WVU and VU stand, and I agree with Chicos that they wont be come monday. I actually think WVU is much better than Villanova, and find Villanova completely overrated.
I realize we haven't ran the BEast gauntlet yet like a rutgers, but still 4-0 is no joke.
agree on all terms rob.

No, I think tha what happened is that WM saw this was his last shot as a senior and that he has a burning desire to play in the NBA-----so he worked very hard this past offseason to develop his body physically (he's noticeably stronger this year) and also worked very hard on other aspects of his game.
When I saw him at the Madness scrimmage, I knew right then and there that he was going to have a great year as he showed a great deal more exposiveness as a result of his increased strength.
Would be very surprised if the PC game is not very tough at the Dunk. I'll be there. Anyone else?
Chicos, Villanova and WVU may both fall out of the top 25 but WVU still is ranked # 4 today by Pomeroy after our win over them.

I will be there Wiz. There is a great pub across the street called Trinity Brewing Company where I will be beforehand. Great beer and food.
They have this in-house IPA that after a couple will make you :P
One thing we can be sure of: Our last five games we will be playing teams as tough or tougher than most we would face in the tournament. Talk about battle-tested.

I'll be there with wife and son. I've seen us play at PC twice in my life and it has not gone well, not to mention the loss to Arkansas in the 1996 NCAAs.

I'm not getting too excited for those last five, but I think we can win at least 2 of them. Thats why these first 6 are so important.
Like you said though, playing in the BEast has its advantages of becoming battle tested!
I'll be at the PC game.
I am predicting now that Villanova will not make the NCAA tournament.

I am predicting now that Villanova will not make the NCAA tournament.
At the start of the season, people were predicting 9 teams from the Big East to make the NCAA tournament.
If you predict that Villanova is out, is that a reflection that you now only feel 8 at most from the Big East will make it?
Or do you think any of these teams have earned a slot?
DePaul, USF, Providence, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Cincinnati, St. Johns.

Absolutely agree.
+1 The only game that matters is the next one.
i have not seen them play but it would appear with their BE start that Keno finally has this very talented group playing to their potential. This talented group has greatly greatly underperformed the last 2-3 years. Ct warrior what aterrible memory that Arkansas game we were so good that year and playing so well. What a terrible time to play our worst game ...by far.. of the year and we were still in it. That group was one of my favorite Mu teams of all time and what atough way for them to go out.

Reasonable prediction - Nova needs a quality win and blew its chance at one yesterday. It's best win is a squeaker over a mediocre Saint Joe's.

I think they are 9-9 at best in this league and I think we will beat them there also. Their strength is their guards and I believe our guards are definately better. Marquette, Pitt, Uconn, Notre Dame, Louisville, Georgetown, West Virginia, and Syracuse are the eight teams I am predicting. 9 is a long shot, because you have to have more than wins against the bottom 5 teams. I also think West Virginia is better than Villanova, but they could flip flop and Villanova gets West Virginia's bid. If the Big East get 9 bids, it means that the top teams in the league are losing too many games and the conference will get poor seeds.
Pummel Providence!!
