His team, Detroit Country Day, played in Ann Arbor last night. John Beilein, Michigan's head coach, was in the house to watch a lot of talent.
Starting with Dashonte Riley, he wasn't much of a factor. Playing against a much smaller team who focuses on the perimter, Riley was continously pulled away from the basket.
I'd say he's about 6'8" and 210 lbs. He defintely has the frame to hold more weight and with the right program, could easily be 230-240lbs. He is active, long and athletic. He can jump out of the gym. He's quick as well. Like a lot of big men in high school, he needs to work on his aggressiveness.
He wound up with about 8-10 points and 7-8 rebounds.
Lastly, despite Joe Dumars' kid (S. Florida) and another kid going to Miami, FL next year, the best player on the floor for Country Day is their junior guard, Ray McCallum. He is unbelievable. Quick, jumps out of the gym and has a sweet touch. Does anyone know his final school list? I know Michigan and Michigan St are both after him hard.
