BIG EAST MEN'S NOTEBOOK
What's The Buzz? Marquette Coach Getting Results

First-year Marquette coach Buzz Williams might not be a national name, but here are two things for future reference: He's an outstanding recruiter and just might have the perfect remedy for survival in the Big East.
After all, the 18th-ranked Golden Eagles (14-2, 3-0) aren't just among the record nine Big East teams in the AP Top 25 this week, they're one of three teams to start 3-0 in conference play. Syracuse and Providence are the others. Marquette had never started 2-0 in its first three seasons in the Big East.
Williams' way of dealing with the pressure: a short memory.
"We have a midnight-hour rule," said Williams, who was promoted when Tom Crean took the Indiana job last April. "We'll celebrate every win until midnight or we'll mourn every loss until midnight. After that, we have to get back and go to work."
Marquette defeated Rutgers 81-76 Wednesday, with No. 25 West Virginia (11-3, 1-1 and smarting from a loss to UConn on Tuesday) up next.
UConn coach Jim Calhoun agrees with the thought process.
"Seize the moment," said Calhoun, whose fifth-ranked Huskies (13-1, 2-1) are at Cincinnati Saturday. "I think if you can keep it in the moment, that's what you have to do. You can't allow what happened before to allow you to think you're better than you are, and you can't allow what happened before to defeat you."
