after losing 63-74 at unranked georgia tech...
from sportscenter:
they -
1) fall 0-2 in acc for first time since 95-96 season
2) lost 4 straight acc games going back to last season
3) 64.0 PPG in 3 losses this season
4) streak of 10 straight wins in road openers snapped
yet does anyone seriously doubt that they won't be in the ncaa tourney come march? anyone doubt coach k's coaching abilities? anyone think that team cannot turn their fortunes around in a heatbeat if they get one or two key things tweaked?
interesting season this... nice to see we aren't the only ones that have struggled to even come within a stone's throw of expectations..
now hopefully this uconn win will give some MUCH needed confidence back to our team after several tough losses.
You mean, a duke team with three sophomores that will take a lot of crap (http://duke.rivals.com/showmsg.asp?fid=1690&tid=87058630&mid=87058630&sid=1021&style=2) for a loss??
;)
I think most people thought Duke was going to have a relatively down year for them. They are not a lock for the tournament. I'd say 80/20 they make it. But I wouldn't be absolutely stunned if they pulled a 6-10 or 7-9 or something in the ACC this year and found themselves on the bubble.
Duke is still at least the 4th best team, if not 3rd, in the ACC this year. I contend Clemson is a paper contender that will be exposed in thier next five which is against Maryland, UNC, BC, Duke, and Virginia, all of whom are better teams than them. Plus the ACC will get at least 5 or 6 teams in the tourney which means that Duke will be getting in this year. Although they might not stay in the top 10 all season that will still be a quality victory for us.
