McNeal named player of the week, MU rises in rankings

Jerel McNeal's strong play continues turn heads. Today McNeal was named the BIG EAST player of the week (http://www.bigeast.org/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=19400&ATCLID=3640595) for the second time this season. Last week, McNeal averaged 25 points, six assists and four boards per game as MU topped Villanova and Cincinnati.
Also, MU moved up in both polls this week (http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/rankings) landing at #18 in the AP poll and #15 in the ESPN/USA Today poll. Marquette is one of nine BIG EAST teams ranked in the top 25 including the nation's new number one, Pittsburgh.
