9 BEast teams in the top 25

Nice.
Big East has 9 teams in the top 25 (top 22 actually)! None of the remaining 7 teams have as much as 1 vote, though.
Wow, Duke is...well...overrated.
I thought ND would have dropped further.
Big East is tough. That's really there is. Other than Louisville, losses inside the conference hit us in the rankings.
we are overrated. sorry.
I'm puzzled by the MSU ranking, and agree that we are overranked as well.
So much for Wisconsin being near us, they're 38th. Parrish at CBS loves them though.
I think we have a couple of games to win this week to deserve the #15 spot, but with everyone else losing we just fell into place by winning at the right time.

Who has (16) Arizona St beaten where they should be above us?
Would you put (17) Villanova ahead of us?
(18) Xavier? There best wins are Memphis and cinci
You don't think we belong in the same sentence as (12) Michigan St, (13) Notre Dame, and (14) Purdue? Why, because Purdue beat Boston college back in November?
I'm not saying we should be higher or lower but I don't understand saying we are 'overrated'. Consistently people act like 10 of the top 25 teams are overrated, this is mathematically impossible. We have quality wins and no bad losses. More than you can say for the teams below us and for some of the teams above us.
This seems like a bigger jump than we earned, but I thought we were under-ranked the last couple weeks, so it evens out in my mind.
Being ranked #15 "sounds" high but after looking at the other teams around us much like RawDog points out, its not too much of a stretch to have us at 15.
That said, after the Cinici win, my initial wish was for a ~18 ranking.

Know what is even MORE insane?
One of those nine teams will have to play the Tuesday afternoon 9-vs-16 game in the Big East tournament and will be put into a position of having to win
five games in five nights to win the tourney.
Think about that.....

Ridiculous. What an absolute killer!
This is great. The West Virginia game is a massive test. I think they are the one Big East opponent we face who is still way underrated. Not to worry about other games, but it would be nice for them to win a big road game this week and then have us knock them off Saturday. I know we have to take care of business after the long trip to Rutgers, but can't help getting excited about what a 4-0 start would mean if we can handle WVUs great defense.

You know what? You're right. Allow me to modify my claim.
I believe that a 10 spot jump because of two home wins against Villanova and Cincy is a bit premature and unjustified. Had they been road wins, I would be more likely to agree. I know Marquette certainly proved that they are worth more than a 25, but these were both games that we
should win. I don't think we should make huge jumps because we beat a better-than-average and a mediocre BEast team.
But I think you make a good point. We
would beat most of the teams you mentioned around us most of the time. Using that argument we certainly deserve it. I guess I might just feel a little wary because I'd rather be ranked low and have everything to gain than everything to lose heading into the densest part of our schedule. The last few years our tendency has been to acheive a high rank and then collapse.
AP is up and has us at 18.
I agree we are probably a tad overrated, but no more so than Notre Dame.

The BE Tourney will be nasty. 5 games in 5 nights? 4 games in 4 nights? Absolute NCAA tourney killer. Take the first two and bow out gracefully.

Let's worry about beating Rutgers and going 3-0 before we look ahead to WVU. Every road game in the BEAST is going to be a tough contest.

+1
It's been well documented on this board - too much is made of the polls. Tennessee is 15th the AP yet 25th in the Coaches'.
