Title: [Rosiak's Blog] Where was Liam McMorrow?

Where was Liam McMorrow?

Jan. 2, 2009 11:08 a.m.

Worry not, MU fans. Liam McMorrow hasn't transferred.

The 7-foot Canadian wasn't on the bench for the Villanova game because he came down with the flu the day before, and coach Buzz Williams' policy is to keep anyone sick -- player or staff member -- away from the rest of the team to prevent an outbreak.

So McMorrow was in his room, trying to get better.

Yes, walk-on Robert Frozena was on the bench in street clothes for the Presbyterian game, but he was deemed to be non-contagious by that point. Strength and conditioning coach Todd Smith was sent home from Raleigh on the day of the NC State game after being hit with a bout of the flu, and graduate student manager Logan Bean was nowhere to be found yesterday because he had been hit with the bug as well.

Judging by the number of emails I received on this topic this morning, there's still a healthy paranoia lingering from the previous regime. But there's no hidden meaning on this topic.

I was at the game and sit very close to the floor and Logan Bean was there and on the bench. I don't know how Rosiak didn't see him. He was sitting in the middle of the bench next to Cubillan most of the game.

Too lazy to look it up---when is Liam supposed to be back? I remember reading that he's practicing again.

He is a transfer, so he won't be back until next season.

Oh yeah duh, thanks. I keep forgetting that. I guess it's all the wishful thinking about some post presence.

I get a kick out of Rosiak's subtle digs at TC.

Huge props to Buzz about his flu policy.  I was always amazed at MU's flu problems under Crean.

Keeping guys quarantined is smart .. one would assume they do flu shots too?

I would think..I mean aren't they offering shots at our games?  One would hope they'd get our guys in line.

Yeah, I always wonder if they do get flu shots... it is pretty cheap insurance for having healthy players!!  (granted, it doesn't prevent all strains of influenza, but every little bit helps).

I think we should poll the Big East coaches on that, it'd be interesting.
