Title: average length of a game
Post by: jaybilaswho? on January 02, 2009, 01:59:14 PM
I forgot to pay attention to this after the Nova game, but i need to know about how long a college game lasts. Is it 2 or 2 1/2 hours?

somewhere in between there, and probably more towards the 2.5 hours mark.

usually around 2 hours, kinda depends on how long the last 2 minutes in the game are, Ive gotten out of some games in less than 2 but usually its a little over.

If it's from the jump ball, it's around 2 hours.  I have ESPN 360 and that's how long every game is plus/minus about 5 minutes.

The Villanova game was about 2 hours and 10 minutes.  I know this because my DVR stopped with 1:38 on the clock.

I always set my DVR for 2 1/2 hours...I never want to be stuck missing the end of a close game. The NC State game was just under 2 hours, but most games usually exceed that 2 hour mark.

I usually set the DVR for 3 hours just in case there is overtime but I was running low on space as I was recording a lot of Winter Classic related shows.

+1  I've had too many exciting games cut out with 2 minutes left in OT.

Of course if it's a badgers game, it could be three hours without overtime

i recorded over the ending of the Syracuse -- UCONN BEAST tourney game in 2006  . . . you know, the one with Gerry MacNamara swishing a 3 to send the game into OT?!? I was way sad :(  that was a much better game than the MU one was...

Robmufan and myself were at that game.  The atmosphere at the Garden was ridiculous.  The Marquette and Georgetown game that followed was far less entertaining.  The crowd wasn't into it at all, even when it was a close game.  Granted MU had very few fans there.

Gerry MacNamara.  Overrated?
