Title: Jay Wright says
Post by: ChicosBailBonds on January 01, 2009, 08:28:26 PM
"We just played a very good team with great veteran guards," Villanova coach Jay Wright said. "Those guys are fun to watch, and they just controlled the game. Veteran guards win in college basketball, and those guys were big-time."

Couldn't agree more.  Next year is going to be interesting on a number of levels.  I will kiss Buzz's shoes on a webcam if he gets us into the NCAAs next year, but in the meantime, this year things are going according to plan so far.

Another tough game on Sunday. Every game in this conference is tough.

I was impressed with Wright's club.   They came to play and were very intense on D. We got their best punch.   If we weren't on top of our game we easily could have lost.

I'm interested in this webcam deal. Let's bookmark this thread and hold you to it. BTW, I'm assuming Buzz's feet are in said shoes when the kissing begins.

and that the shoes will be on ground level, thus requiring bending down from standing to access them ;)

they got some tough fouls called on them... also, I'm not sure it was their best punch... but a good one.

I thought we got a freindly whistle in the first half, but pretty even in the second half.  They are an interesting one-off for us because they are very much like us, with the exception that their best interior player is very good, while our remaining four roughly make up the difference.  Seems to me that the home team in this match-up would win 80% of the time.

Agreed.

We'll find out on Tuesday, Feb 10th!

I'm glad this is a mirror team for us this year.  Always kind of liked Villanova (at least no negative feelings toward them like I have for 2/3 of the conference).  And it is a 'winable' road game...though it will be a tough one.
