The commentators were talking about whether they got the shot off in time, but no one mentioned that is was a 2-point attempt.
(I think)
He had one foot behing the 3-pt line and the other in front. As he went up for the shot, he rolled back and his front foot came off the ground first. (barely)
For someone who really knows the rules, is this a 3 pointer or a 2 pointer?
It was CLEARLY not gotten off in time, but anyway, had is counted, it was only a 2...he had his one foot inside the new arc.
I don't think you have to know much about the rules to realize that was a two point shot...the fact that the announcers didn't pick up on it was a little pathetic. Was Jason Williams wearing a helmet when he crashed?
Saw the game twice on ESPNU, and many replays. Shot was late and did not count and was clearly a two point shot.
I just brought this up in a different thread before I saw this one, and agree. Even if it counted, two points, MU wins.
The shot was a little unorthodox because he pivoted on his back foot and shot with his left foot in the air. But I'm pretty sure it's where the shooter last establishes his foot before the shot that judges the shot worth. So because he established position inside the ring with his left foot before the shot it's a two pointer(even though he shot it with his left foot in the air and his right foot behind the line).

They were clearly an inferior announcing team.
which Jason Williams was doing the analysis last night? I haven't had a chance to watch the game on tape yet.
the one who blew away his limo driver. He got out.
I thought he was being retried. Why is he given air time after killing someone?
I was just joking. The color guy was the awesome Dukie who trashed his body in a motorcycle accident.

It was obviously late, even without the benefit of replay and they pointed that out. If it's obviously late, who cares if it a 2 or 3 point shot?
They did mention that it would have been a two point shot, if it was ruled good. They were confident from the start that the shot was late.
If I was Buzz .. I'd go up to the ref and tell him to let the (2 point) shot count.
That was a hell of a shot.

But then we wouldn't cover?! ;)

If we didn't discuss things that don't matter, we wouldn't have bulletin boards or 3/4 of sports talk radio.
I had to stop and think about whether that would have been a 2 or a 3 also, even though it was obviously after the buzzer. I assumed someone would bring it up here.
